Ran my MM Pro last night in dirt. I had a ton of time to practice so I ran 17.5 and 10.5 during the day.

With 17.5 it was really easy to tune in the CHEAT mode. I just geared for the infield and then started running lower and lower RPM settings until it kicked in good on the straight.

Did the same thing with the 10.5 but I used one setting higher on RPM and half the timing in CHEAT.

Worked great all night and It's actually not much bigger than a Sphere Comp. The case is a little on the bulky side but it fits fine with the fan removed.

Did you see lower motor temp's with the lower gearing using the CHEAT mode ???
Some of the guys that use the T---- software and geared right for it said there motor temp's went down as much as 25*.......Some of them geared back up and there was some smoke.

I've been running dirt so the motor's not getting hot even in stock. If you over gear it it just bogs down and won't go. There hasn't been a need to crank things up too much so I'm only running 35 degrees of timing in CHEAT with the RPM set to 4000.

You can tune the bottom end to the track by turning up the start power. Low is pretty smooth off the bottom and high can be a bit much for dirt. i'd probably just crank it up and leave it there for onroad.

Fred, I've had great success running 40 degrees @8400 - 9200rpm in CHEAT mode in truck stock, punch set 10%, start power high. We run a low grip, bumpy track with a 140' straight. I'm able to pull full throttle coming onto the straight and I either get wheel stands 1/2 way down the straight or the back end kicks out on me when it hits the timing boost.

When I made the change from my previous esc I was coming off the track hot, now with the MMP geared two teeth higher the motor is still about 10 degrees cooler. My lap times have improved by an average of 1.5 seconds a lap.

The only thing I'm upset by is the constant checks I am getting because people think I'm running a faster motor than stock. I guess it doesnt help that I answer yes when they asking if am cheating.

Turning up the CHEAT rpm is what I've been doing lately also.

Don't forget to consider the motor timing when you set the CHEAT mode timing. I'm running some motor timing so my CHEAT timing is like 22 degrees now. I'm running the RPM range at 10,000 to 15,000 in 17.5 offroad now.

Motor timing will give it more bottom end and help smooth out the transition in CHEAT mode. If it's hitting too hard, you can turn up the higher rpm on CHEAT with the custom settings. This will mellow it out a bit but still have the same top speed.

There's a lot to adjust so I've been running the ol dyno a bunch.

Try running the Cheat MODE rpm around 6000 - 8000, timing at 35deg, 0 motor, and a FDR around 4.7-4.9.

Car should be stupid fast and motor temp around 160 after 6 min.

If your motor/ESC temp is @ 170 Degrees Fareheit you got your car geared right and just leave it. You want the motor temp around 160-175 degree Fareheit. Remember you gear brushless base on the temperature of the motor and ESC.

What brushless motor are you running? Some companies have their motors set with more timing and others have lower timing. Your temp is pretty much spot on. You could drop 1 tooth is your worried about the temp.

Well the Custom Works US Open Championships are going on at are track this weekend. 515 entries for this race. Mamba Max Pros is huge demand as for the oval they are really laying it down. We sold 30 esc in less than 3 weeks and today we got in 12 more MMP combos with the 7700 kv motor since we can't find just the esc right now and sold 8 of the 12 today alone.

The speedos so far seem to have great pop out of the corners and no one is running high cheat timing. Everyone is at 22 to 26 degrees and that fits perfect for the stock 13.5 DODC Novak motor that is used. I setup at lest 6 speedos today and another guy helping in the hobbyshop setup at least 4 or 5 today. Last two days where practice but tommorrow will be the first round. I will try to update how everything is going with the drivers using the new MMP.

I just rewired the lead on mine. Just takes an iron with a reasonably small tip and some lead free solder. The oldschool 60/40 doesn't always play nice. It's a lot easier to solder than the motor wire leads. Those require a really good iron and you have to wait for things to cool a bit inbetween leads.

The waranty's pretty much non existant on mine now anyways. New machined case and rewired everything. So far it looks like the thing's built pretty well so shouldn't need the warranty anyways (knock on wood).
