Quick question for you guys, and probably been answered a bunch of times before.. But I've been out of the offroad scene for a few years and am planning on getting back in. I'm torn between the 22 3.0 and the B6/B6D. My questions is.. How necessary is the laydown transmission on carpet using slick tires? I have a mix of dirt and carpet tracks in my area and the nearest carpet track requires the use of slicks on carpet. I know the grip wouldn't be quite as high as it would be if we were using small pin type tires but I was thinking the regular transmission might not be as much a disadvantage over a laydown car in this situation. Any thoughts?

If you run carpet, do yourself a favor and give the laydown a try. Its proven to be faster on our clay track so thewriting is on the wall.

I'm not sure if everyone saw or not, but we added setup sheets last week for the laydown car.
I just talked to Jake Thayer at OCRC, and he said he ran my setup to a "T", and he holds stock track record and has won the past few A-Mains with his laydown conversion.

Saw laydown last night on dirt, it looked pretty lethal.

The laydowns and locals will be at the top and us out-of-daters/towner's will fill the lower mains.
