I would generally ask the RC community which setup is best to start with. When the kit first ships, the kit setup is sometimes the only one available, so then it is the best place to start.

Frank, I have a philosophical question for you. I hope it makes sense.

Is it (always) necessary to use the box setup for the very first drive of any car? IOW, is there an "unwritten rule" I'd break if I used, say, a different shock oil wt, or spring, or shock position as my "first setup?" I realize that lots of R&D goes into that "kit setup.” However, am I trying to out-smart the system if I don’t start with it? If I were to use a different “baseline” setup, is there some element of experience or setup knowledge I’d be missing/losing out on? As long as that first setup is well documented with exactly the setup used, can’t a person tune from there just the same as they could from the “kit setup?”

I hope this doesn’t come across as a snarky question – that’s not my intention at all. I genuinely want to know if it’s essential to start out with the kit setup, or if it’s ok to deviate a little – as long as it’s documented.

    Thanks for your time!

Frank - Are just the dogbones for part# TLR332002 sold separately? I can't seem to locate the part number for them. Thanks in advance for any help you may give.

Thanks Frank! Hopefully the ones I ordered come in taller. Horizon was not familiar with any running changes.

Just bought a new 22-4 because of the service you guys provide.

It is usually the bearings in the hubs. Check those.

I have an old TLR 22 RTR, converted to a 2.0, except the chassis. Lately I have noticed
the car pulls (steers or jumps left actually) under acceleration. I have rebuilt the diff, even replaced the outdrives, rebuilt the shocks checked the adjustment using the TLR shock tool, swapped tires, check the tranny bearings, steering alignment, pulled the axles and cleaned the bearings and CV joints. I'm thinking bent chassis? Don’t know what else could be the issue. I even locked down the slipper and under full power the tires spin then the right tire bite’s and the car jumps left off the track.

I am entered in the Stock Nat's at OCRC this coming weekend but I cant drive the car as is without having to nurse it around the track. Any ideas?

What is the deal with charging LiPos at a higher rate than the ROAR rate 1C? I have been told it provides more punch, higher volts last longer, and others I don't really believe. I do believe it does charge the battery faster at the cost of damging and reducing the life expetency. What do the pros do and why? If I have plenty of batteries ready to go is there any benfit in charging at a higher rate? I have Orion Shorty 4500/100C capable of 5C, but should they be charged at this rate? if there is no difference on the track then why do it?
