Hi Sean. Thanks for joining RCTech, and offering your help to the mortals. 
I saw your profile on the Tamiya USA website here:
While I don't have any "technical" questions, yet, I would like to know how you became a team driver? Did Tamiya approach you, or do you submit a resume?
I'm not looking to become a team driver (I'm not anywhere near good enough), just curious as to how it happens.

For Carpet, a good starting point would be go to Ed's site (www.thard.co.uk) and use Elliott Harper's setup from Carpet Wars - it's on Sorex 28's but should be a good place to start from.
As for asphalt, I think most are still tending to start with the Worlds' setup, but with softer shock oil to suit your local temperatures.

thank you so much for help, I'll try carpet setup at end of the month during the Italian championship. Unfortunately it's seems impossible to find white spring out there.
I'll give you a feedback after the race. I'm not an expert because it only the third time I'm use a touring car and Tamiya too but I love it :-)

When testing the anti roll bar's function, the right arm has more free play and feels softer compared to left side. I have checked and everything measured equally. What could be the cause? How to have both sides have equal play and stiffness?
Also, looking at Jilles tips video, he advised to use 0.75mm shim at the suspension block shafts. Where to get that 0.75mm shim/spacer?

Use Blue (rear) and White (front) on carpet.
If you go outside on asphalt, try the blue, sliver and gold HPI springs...

Basically you need to adjust the link lengths. Best way I find of doing this is to set your droop to something like 6 or 5 on a gauge, then slide the same gauge under the arm and see at what value the arm lifts. Note the value, and do the same for the other side (and they will no doubt be different), and then adjust the links as per the guide to make it equal.

I like to drop the shocks off then hold one arm all the way and check the play on the other, then change sides. It's pretty easy to get them feeling the same, they'll never be 100% perfect anyway
