Tamiya TRF416 / TRF416WE / TRF416X

been wondering for awhile and maybe was asked before, pardon if someone already asked and answered before.
why do the suspension mounts has the number '1' in front of the letters.... 1A 1B 1C, etc
it's not like tamiya came up with 2A 2B 2C and so on...
not an important question but just need to 'quench' my curiosity

and you'll probably ask.. what about the difference in "font" between 1A and 1A
the newest blocks that have different lettering are redesigned so you can "flip them over" and use them as bridge blocks to clear the belt.

the original blocks just had the letters... then when the 415 (Ed can correct me on this) came out.. they added the "1" since its 1mm lower than the original.

(or chassis brace like in the TB-03)

so basically other than the flipping over, the 415 and 416 blocks are of the same dimension.

Tamiya themselves says the setting is the same. The difference is probably in the material thickness...

The old suspension blocks (only A-E) for the 415 are slightly wider then newer 416 ones. The 415 blocks were designed for the old suspension (TA04) on the original 415 which uses ~50mm suspension shafts. This was later changed to 46mm shafts with slightly more toe in the rear as result. This was corrected with the new blocks. As comparsion on 46mm shafts: XA-old E = 3.2 degrees, XA-new E = 3 degrees.

the traditional 415 suspension block looks a bit longer.
