Off topic, but for the record, Killer Instinct was originally released for the arcade, then ported to the SNES. Trust me, I spent WAY too much money on it, two quarters at a time....for the entire year before the SNES port was released.

Back on topic: As for the "placebo" issue....placebo or not, if I could spend $1 on a pin, 10 minutes measuring and drilling, and be faster and more consistent around the track, because I THINK the car is going to be faster, then I think it's money and time well spent. If most people running this mod like it, then there has to be something to it, psychological or not....and if it IS psychological, it's a whole lot cheaper than going to a hypnotist...

Geez, this is going to hell in a hurry. There's no right or wrong setup for the SC10 or any other car. Driver preference, track size and conditions, etc. all make a difference. It's like asking whether it's best to run a spool, diff, or one way in a TC. But, the pinned shaft is an easy mod, and it's cheap. If you don't like it, pull the pin and it's decoupled. Takes what, 30 minutes, and gives you another tuning option, why not? And it sounds like what I said 6 pages or so ago is probably correct. If you pin the top shaft, you need to run either the stock slipper, or loosen the slipper with the Garodiscs or clutch basket. A properly adjusted slipper is the best insurance for your drivetrain.

Just an FYI,
The RC8B/T shock o-rings work and are a lot better than the stock ones. I couldn't wait for the Trackstar o-rings so after trying a few different ones I had the RC8 fit like a charm with free flowing movement.

Ok Chris, I have a question: what are the team guys doing for the slipper? Are they pinning the shaft as many here? Or do they have some secret clutch set up that is way better? (saw a few pics of something like that) Or both? Thanks in advance.

I can't speak on everyone's behalf, but alot of guys I have seen are running the Fast Lap Products clutch basket. I haven't seen/heard of any team guys pinning the top shaft.

Does anyone on the team use stick packs at all or has it all gone saddles?

I feel the same way, I am using stick picks and don't plan at all to convert over to saddles, as well as pin the shaft......... I love how my sc10 drives, I think with the right tires, swaybars, mantis's slipper pads and pistons my sc10 handles and performs great..........

Where do you measure for height? Is it right at the very front and rear or the flat part of the chassis.

I personally measure right at the front and rear of the nerf bars (where they meet the chassis). No idea if it's right...but it works for me!

Im starting to question my choice on this truck. Thinking I should have maybe went with the losi. I hear the losi drives more like a 1/8 buggy which is what I race normally. I did run the truck on a track for the first time this past weekend and made one lap. Yeah one lap, truck was so twitchy and seemed to handle so bad I pulled it off the track. Plus this pin mod thing, I would think if I did that mod it would make the truck worse for me. May have this truck in the for sale section soon
