what i have found is that you basically don't get a good return on your investment when it comes to rc. think about it, especially a off-road, it gets hammered and people know it. i put all the best stuff in my rc's and wind up keeping them or giving them to friends rather then to sell them to someone cheap and deal with the b.s.......

I guess its either you really like the sc10 or you don't. Most people prob. don't because they feel its to much of a pain to work on, me personally I wouldn't trade my sc10 for any other 4x4 sct out there on the market right now.......... I also find it funny when people like to complain and state how AE needs to do this or that etc........... For those that are please tell me one rc out there right now that is perfect out of the box, especially when its almost completely a new design........
Seriously if you want to complain then email or call AE or whatever manufacture etc and leave it off here...........

If you are bending axles and wearing out drives, check the compression of the front and rear suspension. I'm running 5mm of spacers on all 4 shock to keep the axles/cvds from binding in the outdrive cups. The kit comes with up travel limiters for the shocks and I found I had to use them all. I have not bent a axle/cvd yet. I was the 2nd owner and my outdrives were already loose.
Does anyone know if the FT shock bodies are any longer then the blue/stock shock bodies?

I got the aluminum pullys, sway bars, mmp esc, tekin 4.5, aluminum hexes, hd slipper pads, trackstar o-rings, yellow springs, 16 tooth pinion, serrated flanged nuts, and a bec. Now the long wait until wed for the kit and a new 1257 savox servo. I think I have most of the basics covered. Now being an AE fan with having truggies and buggies I do have a losi scte coming as well. Traded my flux for it. I debated on getting another sc10 kit or the losi. Its for my wife so I think the truggy type platform will work out better. If not then off to the for sale section and a new sc10 4x4 will be mine.
Anyways I just hate waiting so I have been reading page by page on this thread to prepare myself on the build.

I definately wasn't pleased with the whole slipper assembly having to buy a third party item to make it actually "work". But that was a "problem" making the truck flat out 'not work'. So that aside...

I replaced the rear transmission case today hoping to get rid of some slop in the slipper shaft with no success. The shaft still wiggles up and down quite a bit and yes all bearings are in good shape. I don't think I am too happy with the plastic on this truck. Even after keeping the truck supported on blocks the suspension arms still sag and bend. My front arms were bent and twisted severely near the inner hinge pins. I guess I`m just used to on road pieces that are not as long and are much stiffer.

I've just had a look at a SC10 4x4 I'm thinking of buying off a mate and it has a Venom 4800Kv motor and 60A Turnigy TrackStar ESC. Should be picking it up next weekend.
What pinion/spur should I be running for general bashing on a backyard clay based track with this 4800Kv.
I also have my LRP 13.5T X-11 & Sphere ESC out of my TC I could put in but really like the idea of having reverse.
Thanks in advance
Cheers

I also love mine. Sure it is a pain in the arse to work on, especially considering I use those wrenches that came with the kit, but this truck is so responsive to inputs and changes so drastically when you tune this or tune that, I really feel that it was made for the driver that feels the ride, not the one that just jams the throttle, gets on a route and never stops unless he crashes or burns the motor.
Plus it is a great crawler
