SC10 4x4 Thread
#7636
Hey ya'll, I've got an interesting problem with my 4x4. This started out of the blue, with the slipper cranked down all the way, it lets the front wheels roll a bit and makes the clicking noise when I hit the brakes. What could be the problem? I checked my belt tension, and even lowered my brake through he radio to soften the braking. This thing used to stop on a dime but now it rolls and the back wheels lock up, sometimes spinning me out. Any thoughts?

Then it's stripped out. Take it off and check the teeth for a nice sharp fit, in a good hit, it'll skip no matter what and round the teeth. People have CA'd the thing together saving themselves from waiting for parts when the truck was brandnew.

Good advice, I will check it as soon as I can. If that is the case, do you guys reccommend gluing it or getting a new clicker assembly?

I have ran both a 14 and 15 tooth pinion and like the 14 tooth better. With this gearing and 80% current limiting the esc came off the track at 122 and the motor at 145. Oh and no one could touch me down the strait. This motor is stupid fast.

Thanks for that, oh and what size spur is the go?

Whites are way too soft and the chassis will hit the face of the jump and scrub off speed.
Try yellow in back inside hole on top and inside on arm. Run yellow fronts too. At the sc showdown in Dallas it required skill to not overshoot the doubles and end in the middle of the sweeper.

I'm running 13/62 with the 4600 and it's good but feels just a tad under-geared. I may try going up to a 14 or the 60 or 58 spur. Will try the spurs first as the $13 pinions sting the wallet a little.
Absolutely love this motor. Smooth as butter and more predictable than the 1410 I was running before.
