Day 1 meaning back in February when truck first showed up in public.

Those other issues you mentioned are kit assembly problems.

Slipper is a design weakness IMO, and therefore it affects 100% of the trucks. Now I'm lazy so I just run it and let it slip and don't really take care of my stuff, and it affects my results. But that doesn't make it acceptable.

Did you switch to the Tekin for a particular reason? What are the differences you have noticed?

I was wrong about the pads. I'm dumb, sorry. Still think your slippers are loose.

As for the guy dogging the AE engineers.....You build a better one and we will buy it. If not, shhhh!!! Going off that much on this forum could only be for attention.

So the new kits are coming with the high torque pads by default? can someone who is a part of AE confirm this?

I wonder if this is true, that for early adopters they could send out some high torque pads if they are now coming with them by default?

LOL I like your last comments.....

I switched only because I have never used sensor motors since I've only used castle or hobbywing setups in the past...... And to be honest I didn't notice much of a difference or any at all about people stating the cogging issues with the 1410, I actually may sell my 5.5 fairly soon and go back to the 1410 because it not only had more power IMO, but ran a whole lot cooler then my tekin does..... It also depends on the price and availability of tekins new 4pole motor, now if that comes out soon I will def. sell my tekin 5.5 and try that one out..........So far 2 practice days at my local indoor track and still no issues with my slipper pads, I run the stock on the inside and one high torque on the outside......... So until I start glazing them like others state, I am sticking with what I have.......

Thanks Ilanstylz....I actually had a similiar plan, run this Castle 4 pole until the Tekin's come out and then try one of them.

A little AE birdy told me they are aware of the slipper issues and currently at work on it. I'm still going with the clutch basket, as I'm impatient and tired of messing with it...

Funny thing is, first half of a run, with the slipper tight, I probably crash more due to the wicked acceleration and ability to pull so hard. When it starts slipping, my driving gets smoother and I stop trying to clear stuff and make sketchy passes since I know it's limited. Kinda like active stability/anti idiot control!

today is a sad day ive been running associated cars since the gold tub rc10s. i waited for the sc10 4x4 to come out had it backordered since the day it was released. ive went to 5 races so far and i cant get this truck to be competitive no matter what i do. i ran all last year in the larc series with my jammin scrt10 and got second place for the year this year i cant even get around the track fast or smoothly with the sc10 4x4 ive been reading this forum trying everything and this truck is just squirley im sure i cant be the only one who thinks this. standing on the drivers stand i can take over controls on my buddies losi and put laps on other guys. i got out ran by a losi short course buggy sunday with a velinion system in it. wow was i bummed. i think its the last straw im thinking about selling the sc10 for the losi i know thats cursing on this forum but man i just cant get it to perform and its very hard to drive. so far i have not broke one part but my friends losis are eating parts like crazy. i sold my rc8be and bought the mugen mbx6 eco and wow i put a lap on my friend in the amain who usually is hard for me to keep up with. i know the buggys arent related but. maybe its time for a new car.
just seems like the sc10 take alot more finess to drive hard. ive got two sc10 4x4s that im thinking of selling the one im running and a brand new one never assembled i bought for parts. neither one will have shocks im running the losi 8 shocks and sold both sets of stockers.

setup tekin rx8, scx 4 4.5 reedy 40 c packs high torque pads 1015 servo. chris setup off forum. man i wish i could get her to act right im a die hard ae man and hate see it go but ill be damned if a 2wd buggy is gonna beat me again lol. maybe im missing something but its just not very stable. on power it wants to spin out and if i come into a corner to fast it rotates way to easy. sad sad day im gonna miss my associated but somethings gotta change. im not bashing the sc10 but damn im getting frustrated with it. is anyone else experiencing problems with handling. maybe its my driving style?

We really don't know everything the "Pro's" are doing or testing. It's a black cover over the slipper. When they are ready they will let us know.

For now there is a guy in his basement making a possible solution. Good for him! I bought one, because I wanted to know if its a good fix for the issue's that I am having with the performance of the truck. It is not a problem for all tracks and depends on the surface, track layout, equipment you are running but I will have it when I need it. I will have more than the cost of this part in springs, pistons, and tires to tune this truck at the track.

Ditch it and get the losi/other brand...if its not working for you then it's not working..this is a hobby after all and it's suppose to be fun..

I on the other hand wouldnt drive anything else..truck is dialed and walks all over other SC's..

Sorry to hear you having such a hard time with it. Have you tried Ryan Cavalieri's setup? and what is your track conditions like? maybe try different tires? I know I had to learn to drive it differently than other 4x4's, i drive it more like a 2wd. Driving it too hard will punish you, driving it smooth will be fast.

Well Stated, I have not owned any other 4WD SCTs, but I can win A-mains and run with the fastest guys around me at all 3 local tracks. The truck works very well for me but it may not be right for all racers?

Thing is that not 100% of the owners are having issues with it. Also, not 100% of the people feel the way you do about it. That's what you have to keep in perspective. You have to look at the number of people that have issues with it...not the number of trucks that have the issue...because all the manufacturer sees are the people that say something. Which means by you posting here (and since I have seen Associated people reading these boards) you are letting Associated know you're having issues with it.

Then you also have to take into account the nature of the issue. With slippers, what is the problem you're having? It slips too much. What happens if someone doesn't set up a slipper tight enough? It slips too much.

So now the problem may innitially get chaulked up to user error and the problem is masked. This takes it longer to diagnose from a manufacturer's standpoint.

Tells me that at least Associated has determined the problem is a weak point in the truck. Whether or not Associated makes this a product line change or an option part remains to be seen...though as someone mentioned with Associated's history that this will become a Team Option Part and released on the "Factory Team" version.

Believe me, you can test the crap out of a vehicle and it's not until only after it's released and your customers use it do you find out where the real weaknesses are. I used to be considered a "durability testor" by a company I use to work for because I had the unique ability to break the unbreakable. As such, my cars were always the most durable things on the track. LOL They HAD to be!!!
