To tag on to what Krio said, the reason why physics don't quite scale is because surface area increases in a square relationship, while volume increases in a cubed relationship. This makes things work differently, but this has nothing to do as to if 2-stage pistons/bladders/etc, work.
To each his own, if there is one thing I have learned through years of RC, and being an RC Manufacturer is that there are many different ways to skin a cat. There are so many different ways to arrive at a good set-up and most people have a different way of going about it. There is no "right way". Personally, I like emulsion, why? Because off of big jumps when I over jump them, the truck doesn't bounce off of our hard packed clay surface.
For example, I have tried the Cavalieri and Mayfiled set-ups with a ton of droop and I can't stand them. They make the truck way too hard to drive on our above-average size tracks in our part of the country. Being a coherent human, with analytical skills, I can look at my results, based on my personal findings and come to the conclusion that I can go faster with less droop. Is this what the pros are doing? No. But I go faster with the set-ups I develop. Why? Because they allow me to drive harder. While I am not as good as Mayfield or Cav (who is?) I am one of the top 4-5 Short Course truck drivers in the Region, so it's not like I don't know what I am doing.
I have also seen Mantis's truck and it looks good. It certainly is fast, and while I wouldn't go around saying it's the fastest truck in the area, it probably is the fastest AE truck around (that's cause mine was temporarily retired waiting on some prototype parts
), and it was quick enough to bump up into the A main at the recent RC Pro Nationals. He did it with 2-stage pistons, so they can't be that bad All the people that try them, always have good things to say about them, especially in rough track conditions.
On another note, *shameless plug here* we have a chassis stiffening system arriving early next week for the sc10 4x4 that will double as your battery hold down. The saddle pack conversions are also close to being ready!

they race sunday and after the race they will change it . the track is 3.5 hours from me so it is a drive but well worth it

I don't think Liverc will be available, but lots of guys record the mains and upload them to youtube. You can find the MI State Champs that were held at this track (Proving Grounds Raceway) last month on my youtube channel:

On my sc10 4x4 the Switch and Rattler tires both work very well in the clay compound. Which one will work better really depends on your track, so check out what other drivers are using (more mini pin type ala switches or more along the lines of barcodes and suburbs). I've found if the clay content is quite high the Rattlers work better, but if its more 50/50 clay/dirt the switches tend to be faster for me. If I could only choose one the Rattlers seem to be more universal. At 3 out of 4 tracks around me I run rattlers over switches.
Does any dust/debri build up on the track?

Unfortunately I don't make it outside of the midwest much. I really wish I could afford to travel by air more, but it just isn't realistic for me at this time. 3 day weekend road trips and cheap motels are as far as my racing budget will take me for now. Hopefully that will change in the next year or so as I have some friends on the west coast I plan on visiting. Does Nick Sava ring a bell?
