Received mine today and installed it tonight. Yup, I had to customize the plastic top piece that covers the center diff in order for it to bolt up to the new elite mount. Actually I just ground it down a bit and then it fit perfect. The angle of the mount rises too high near the center diff cover which causes the problem.

I also had to use different flat head hex bolts that go through the chassis into the elite mount. The stock RC8Be bolts were 4mm x 15 but they were too long. I had to use some 4mm x 12 flat head hex bolts from my Mugen screw kit to get the screws to tighten up and sit flush on the chassis.

DOH, you're right. Don't I look like the idiot. I hope it fits my E, but if not I can just put it on my RC8B nitro.

Hi guys,

Does anyone know the difference in the screws between the rc8b and the rc8be? The reason I ask is that I'm talking to Lunsford about getting a screw kit, and as they have have no specific set for the BE, if I tell them the difference they'll modify the rc8b set to suit the electric.

Thanks

LOL, yes it did. You know I'm going to do everything in my creative power to make it fit . But like I said, worse case scenario; I'll just throw it on my RC8B Nitro.

I have seen both the bulldog and punisher bodies fit the RC8Be...you should have no problems...

Question about the elite mount I just got.... with the pinion installed it is not lining up correctly with the spur....close, but not exactly. below is a horrible cell phone pic....
Am I good to run this like it sits until i can get a pinion with a shorter shank??

I personally would wait till I could get the correct pinion. That's one of my pet peeve's...spur and pinion alignment. The HPI and Hot Bodies pinions have a short shank so they should work...Losi pinions should work too. Good luck!

Robinson Racing pinions also fit perfectly. But they only go up to 20T.

They look great, even the pink one. Actually we have a guy that runs a hot pink, white and black scheme and I think it looks good. Do you paint your own bodies? I love to paint my own bodies, but my abilities and creativity are limited. My bodies come out looking nice and clean, I just can't create anything really intricate.
