Sadly I've had mine over a month now but finally got to building it this weekend. Still need some tire glue and paint and to sort out the power system. Luckily I'm fortunate enough to have several motor and battery combinations to play with to dial it in for the local track. As it sits now.....

Well, Maifield TQed with the RC8Be, but it looks like he dropped in the mains. I think he took fourth at the electric roar nats. Pretty good showing for this vehicle.

He actually took the win in the mains. Maifield TQ'ed and won 2 of the 3 mains taking the overall and the National Title for Team Associated.

Awesome, I'm glad I was mistaken!! I knew he TQed, I don't know what made me think he dropped off in the mains. Now I know for sure when I'm losing a race that it is definitely not the car's fault, it is most assuredly me.

The team was testing out new shock towers and new a-arms at the roar nats...hopefully they will be available soon!

i have a CC 1800 1512 motor on stock spur and 19t.. is this a good combo for a 10 min run?

i noticed the pickup is a little slow. should a 18T be better?

Is it common for the front driveline to have some chatter in it while turning under throttle? While "on-throttle" at low speeds I have been experiencing some light chatter in the front CVA's/axles.

There is another thread on here that fully explains that chatter, but now I can't seem to locate it for you. Anyway, that chatter is perfectly normal so don't go replacing the parts on your front end one at a time convinced they are the chattering culprit because you'll spend a bunch of cash, and there will still be chatter.

Nevermind my last post, found my answer in a search. Apparently AE overlooked the 3 pivot CVD system like the Losi CVD's have. According to a discription on another thread, the two pivot design of the CVD's causes the CVD to accellerate and decellerate 4 times in 1 revolution causing the chatter. I haven't noticed much decrease in handling but was just wondering if others are also experiencing this. Might be an upgrade part for AE to look into.........

Default new motor mounts

Hi Folks,

We have a post up on our new mounts you may like.

If you are using a Tekin motor, one of our mounts can use all 6 socket cap bolts , and if you are using a Neu/Castle, up to 4 bolts can be used.

So you have to pull the motor out of the car and mount off the motor to change the pinion.

Not necessarily...check out their website. gridrc . com

There is an option for a motor plate that supports the pinion from the rear. Using that option (and it doesn't cost any more by the way) allows you to change the pinions at will IN the car.

Personally...I really LIKE what I'm seeing here. It's very smartly designed and it's cheaper than the Elite RC mount! I'm planning to get one ASAP.

What is the range of pinions that would work with a stock 46t spur and your mount ?
Thank you.

Thank you.
The outer BB pinion supported mount handles pinions up to 18T, and the inner BB supported mount handles the full range. If you don't use beyond 18T in your gearing set up, the outer BB version provides better support for the motor shaft.

The outer BB version is limited physically by the opening it as to pass through in the mount.

So, if you need the full range, then we suggest the inner BB version.
