1. The Firstline Black Mod engines are fast. We have done a lot of testing with the Firstline .12 Black Mod (JP12P3LB) and its a great engine. Chris Lefevre ran one at our last FL State series race and finished 3rd. The only drivers to beat him were Chris Tosolini and DJ Apolaro, both factory/world drivers. He was only 1.5 laps behind after 30 minutes. We also tested at Ft. Myers and he was turning low 13s with it. A Touring car running low 13s at The Fort is flying.
2. The Firstline .21 Black Mod has the same timing as the FX-21 R-03 (a great motor) so it will also be very fast with a linear/smooth powerband. It should be pretty good on fuel, too. With a Street Price under $380, its the best value in 8th scale right now.
I'll post more info after we test one.

The P7 has great bottom, mid was good, top was ok but not as much as the R7 & R9 I tried a R03 crank in it and it gave me a lot more bottom, and a little more top. But it drank a lot more fuel.
The R7 has the most bottom out of the three motors. Mid was more than the P7 but only a hair more than R9. R7 didn't rev as high as the R9 on top but it was definitely higher than the P7.
The R9 has the least low end of the three (but it still holds its own with the right gearing). Not as much mid as the R7 but very close. Revs like crazy up top (most top end of the three).

I bought a 35+21 JP engine and was wondering if anyone has any input on it's performance. I have a short header on it with a 2015 pipe.I also have a 2052 to try. I have it broke in but haven't got to run it yet. Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm heading up to 301 Raceway this weekend for the Tornado Challenge. If you attend the race and have any questions or need help with your JP (or any other engine) stop by and I'll try to help.
Looking forward to running at 301.

I would stick with the 2015 pipe and play with the header length to get the power band to match your driving/car/track. The 2052 pipe makes lots of power but most people can't make time with it.

Hi, Im trying to find some information about JP FX T-03 Full Mod with ceramic bearing. I found a great deal, and wanted to know how it hangs with other modified engines. My track needs A LOT of topend, and a linear powerband with not much bottomend. It is low to med traction, huge track. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If it's that one then you could buy it without a doubt. If you want top end that's the engine to get. Put a 2601 pipe on it with the short manifold and it rev's like no other.
i recorded one of the highest 1/10 scale top speeds at our track with this engine, 108,4 km/h or 68mph.
I was overtaking 1/8 scale's on the back straight.
