Took my MM5 7 port to a new track that opened 20 minutes from my house today

This thing has TONs of power, was WAY too much for this track today, although traction was really hard to come by. They still haven't put down the last layer and it was pretty sandy. I'm pretty sure they are putting a layer of clay on top soon so that should help. Had no trouble clearing the 45' back tabletop even with the short run up, but I had to hit the berm and EASE on the throttle to keep the car from braking loose

I was getting 10+ minutes a tank with the 7mm restrictor. I'm going to try the 6.5 next trip here due to the traction issue. My last tank before I was going to head out I actually started timing but at the 8 minute mark I clipped the wooden wall on the last jump before the straight and broke an upper arm (yes that's my broken car in the picture) I still had 1/3 tank left.

Very happy with it, thanks a ton Mark. Great engine, can't wait until the 26th so I can stretch it's legs on a bigger track.

They're on ebay. Starting bid is $55

Mfrosty: I haven't broken any upper arms on my RC8 since I started boiling them. I nailed a wood barrier after a triple and bent my carriers and Ti hinge pins but I'm still using the same upper arms.

When it was almost at temp and right before it went crazy i was liking what it was starting to do.

this is still unanswered.

My understanding is that you can basically swap the 3/5/7p Pro internals but not between any of the .21 pro engines and the 3p sport. Reason for this was the timing differences. They might work but not the best. I think in .28 engines you can put the Pro 6p internals to the 3p sport. This info is from Mark @ MM but I let him confirm this

The Go .21 races like hot plugs I run P3, P4, or OD77T thats it. My PTM 5 port loves P3's I am going to try to get it to like the OD 77T's this year though because for some reason at my LHS Os plugs are like $12 and the OD's are $5 but if they dont last like the OS I will go back to OS. I last year was getting like 2-3 gallons out of the P3's and changed them not cause they burned out just because I didnt want them to in the middle of a race.

Sorry I missed this the other day. $15.00 if you just send the piston and sleeve, $35.00 for rebuilding the whole motor.

Yes, all internals are the same in .21 3,5,and 7 ports, .25 and .28 have the same rods. The sport block is basically the same but different bearing and machining.

I am not sure how many Racefactor got in but I sold 2 of them. I wouldn't buy from that Special Rc, (the one on Ebay with the coated crank) they are the ones that sell the Factory modified Go's that are the same as all the rest.

Here's a pic of the coated crank I lightened and epoxy ramped.

"rebuilding the whole motor" you mean doing the breakdown and reassembly?

thinking here pinching is a good option, the price is right! but since i am refreshing it i might as well put a new rear bearing in there just to be sure. about how much would that run with a pinch?

Also the top of the piston is black, not crudded up just black. would using a dremmel and wire brush on the face hurt it?

When rebuilding the motor I take it apart and clean it, inspect bearings, inspect crank and rod for wear (i use a mic and a bore guage that measures to .0001 of an inch), and pinch the sleeve. It includes replacing rod or bearings but any parts are extra. I usually use Tko ceramic bearings, the rear is $22.95. Of course when I'm done I put it back together.
If I am just pinching the sleeve I will clean the top of the piston, I don't recommend a dremel and wire wheel!
I am going on vacation and won't be back until 1st of May so I won't be doing anything for 2 weeks.

Mfrosty is this the track that Middle River Hobbies opened? I am planning on going there Friday for some practice. I hear there are some other guys coming up from the south.
