Ok Guys, I’ve probably asked this before ( meds mess with my memory too) I’m building a printed chassis, a OBRC OBZ and would definitely love to run it in the challenge, is it legal in 2wd open? Thx Walt
PS don’t worry I’ll never get close to PoorBoy and Traveler2‘s Box Stock Runs let alone some of the other times y’all are insanely FAST

Haven't driven it much since I bought it because I wanted to gain some experience in the box stock class.

Pics of the printed build would be awesome, as I love to build/tune on cars almost as much as I do driving!

The key to the getting 2wd open cars to work on the Mini96 is turning the throttle endpoint down. I would start in the 40-50% range until you can run consistently then slowly turn it back up (I don't think mine is above 70% with a 3500kv motor). It took me a few months to be able to beat my stock times with an open car as they can be a handful to drive and the setup can be difficult to figure out. The great thing about getting into the brushless cars is you don't have to stop to let the motor cool so it is great for getting a lot of laps of practice in a short time.

I put a few runs with my Stock car on the clock, and I 4 SURE a Clock Wise dominate driver!!! I am almost a half second slower and mistake ridden! I had to turn the throttle end point from 75% to 50% to even get the car somewhat controllable turning CCW! I had to keep fighting my instincts when recovering from a mistake when needing to reverse, to not start going CW. Anyway here's a starting time to see how I improve through out the month.

This is with my PN2.5W 03EVO Stock chassis w/ Green Jomurema w/Lexan windows. Also I am trying to drive with a Soft Tx wheel, and I think I'm better with a firmer wheel. I tend to over correct going past center. Probably has a lot to do with the reduced feeling in my rt hand.
I also got some parts in from Wolfram for my Open Chassis (8500kv), and just in time too, as the HARD Reversing was destroying my 03 factory gear diff! Using the #6 motor plates in the 04 MM Pod, the PN Ball Diff geared 52/9, the car is SOOO MUCH better and controllable! It flat out RUNS with either a NSX or Camaro body using PN +1mm 19mm Dish Wheels up front, and the factory NSX +1 20mm rear wheels and PN KS Medium LH front and KSM Soft Rear Radials! Both bodies handle well but the NSX is a bit easier on the rails. I'll get some times tomorrow and post them up. The PN V4 motor mount should be hear Monday, so I will time with both pods ( PN V4 vs. Kyo MR04 MM) and see if there's a difference between the 2. I also got a PN 2.5W chassis to swap the Kyo 04 chassis, but it's dialed in as it is so I hate to change it!
Running both the NSX and the Camaro on the MR04 Open is a world of difference than on the 03! I shelved both the bodies after trying them on an MR03 as they had bad traction rolling problems no matter what I tried to solve it, but on the MR04 they show no signs of TR! Now the problem is I'm out of KS Medium LH fronts, and my normal go to stores are out of stock!
Thinking of trying some Reflex tires, but I haven't seen anyone using them here yet. Anyone try them yet?
Anyway hope all is well! Drew

Video of my 94mm car. Not my fastest run but wanted to get some video up incase it helps someone find a fast line around this layout. Found that throttle endpoint in the 70-75% range is fastest for my driving style.

Hey PoorBoy,
Now that the MR04 Ready Set has been released, are they going to be allowed in BoxStock? They are supposed to be the same board, but the rear pod has axel height adjustment, which is NICE but an advantage over the 03 along with the improved steering and lower CG. I have most of the spare parts to change my 03 to an 04 already, and as much as I like how the 04 drives, it would probably be worth the time and small expense!
What's Yall's thoughts?
p.s. Your driving and times are freakin Awesome!
