some updates and questions.

ordered 3 sets of lc tires (2 buggy 1 truck)
found a set of aprex onroad tires that fit a the LHS
got a better charger for my new max amps 2250 pack
got 3000 and 5000 TA diff fluids.

tomorrow im gonna do my first maintence/teardown. what would be my best options for those diff fluids? they didnt have 7000.

the tires did pretty decent in the rain on tarmack with pebbles. i turned downt he steering and was able to corner at high speeds though it did understeer a bit and oversteer under heavy breaking. could be driver skill or setup or both. also, wet conditions.

Try 5front 5center 3rear. Then see how you like the feel of it and go from there. I tried 7/5/5 yesterday and went back to 7/5/3 today.

thanks my friend. what is the purpose of lighter oil in the front . Is it because the back takes more pressure during acceleration (and doesnt have steering) so it can handle the heavier oil ? then the light in the front so it can manage the more dynamic front wheels speeds? im trying to understand why as well.

I like this setup guide for 4wd vehicles, its a nice 2 page guide that you can keep in your binder, etc.

Adam Drake can explain it much better than I can. Here's a link.

thank you, you guys are awesome. i spent the afternoon slowly tearing this down to clean and tinker. i stripped 2 screw heads slightly but still got them out. any thoughts where i can find some cool blue screws i can use putting it all back together? i clearly need to get a more proper hex driver as well.

I am cleaning everything and probably going to replace the esc, receiver (im getting a better radio for now and the future) and maybe upgrade to the bigger engine that was posted then the stocks can be my spare parts.

pics of teardown here.

the first time i took it out i took it in mud, snow, rain grass, pine needles, etc. and i think it wasnt super kinda to the running gear. now i know how to clean it better just hope i can get it all back an going. to snowy here to drive now.

any thing else i should do when i put it all back together?

also i think all my of hinge pins on the outer A arms are bent? They hinge, but not freely. And i tried to press one out from the access hole in the A arm with no luck. Kinda stumped on that.

No problem that's what we are here for. Very nice pictures by the way. When tearing apart my car I mainly just re oil my bearings, and check the drive train to make sure everything works as it should. As far as hinge pins go, I have yet to bend one as I haven't had any crazy crashes yet. I would try using a cheap L wrench to poke it out. They might just be dirty and gunked up, take some simple green to them and clean them up. On my 1/8 scale every 2 weeks I polish them with mother's. Going to be doing that tonight on the 14b. Cheers!
