Just noticed this post. Our engines are not really known for having cases that split. I've seen engine mount tabs break a couple of times over the years due to chassis flex like if a car is lawn darted but that's about it. Can you give me som detail on exactly what happened?

Sure, give me a little bit to put a picture up.
It split parallel with crank on very bottom of crankcase.
about an inch long.
engine ran great and really liked the powerband of the B6
I have read about one other doing the same thing.
This isn't my first rodeo guys, Been doing this since the early 90's
would rather be out on the track or in the the garage instead of trying to build post count!
I understand the Manufactures Rep. required to be on and answer questions.
Most of us come on hear to read about others experiences, and share their own so we can all learn and enjoy this Hobby. Not be prejudged by others who do not have a clue what happened.

I also believe its a very rare occurrence as Werks have a very beefy well built crankcase !

Thanks, for putting up a picture. This is the first that I've seen that happen before.

Lets take a few deep breaths lol, not sure where this came from as all I mentioned was that our engines are not really know to have cases that split and asked that you give me some more information, so no prejudging was done on this end. In any case the reason that I was asking is simply because we stand behind our products. If you have an issue with one of them and you know it's not something caused by personal error/abuse and it's a warranty related issue like I would say in this case, then you should contact us and let us know about the problem. Not have us read about it on a forum. A lot of companies once they get your money frankly do not want to deal with you anymore, we're not one of those type of companies. If you bought one of our products and there is something wrong with it, we will take care of it.

Agreed about our cases, that was the reason that I was asking about the issue.

You are not doing us any diservice by mentioning an issue that you had. We would be doing not only our self but also you the customer a diservice by not trying to get additional information about the issue, addressing it and trying to take care of you. Hence the questions. Aluminum can be finicky to work with but our cases are not cast. We use MIM or a powdered Metal Injection Molding process to make our cases where powdered metal is basically forced into a mutli cavity mold under tremendous pressures (up to 2000 BAR or 29k PSI) and that pressure and friction of compressing the metal powder causes it to melt. Because of super high pressure that the metal powder is introduced into the mold at it ensures an even material density throughout the finished product and makes it impossible to have voids etc. Here is a video outlining the process that is used to make our cases:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SufKCjYRqh4

After molding and sintering the cases then go to finish machining and final inspection. So a lot is involved in making them and as I mentioned I've personaly litteraly never ever seen one split or get cracks before (other than around the mount tabs due to chassis flex like I mentioned earlier). This is a fluke, and it's not something that you should have to come out of pocket to deal with. Why don't you send me the engine and I'll take care of it under warranty and send you over a new one?

Thanks guys but honestly me handling things like this is nothing special and is how those of us that truely care about the hobby take care of our customers. I have no doubt that any of you with issues would be taken care of in a similar manner be it with me, Lance with Triton or Monty with Fusion. A lot of companies are out just to get your money and don't want to deal with anything once they got it, we are in it for the long term and that's not how we opperate.
