A good quality double sided tape will work & look fine provided you align everything correctly. But given time (years) the tape will break down & things will eventually move. Have just finished a new body shell myself - Mazda RX7 wide body with extra aerodynamic body kit. I used Uhu glue to piece them together but any similar adhesive is going to work.

Edit: apparently I hold my iPad upside down when I take pictures.

ShoeGoo is the best adhesive for lexan bodies. It is very strong and flexible. It even works very good on the dry Tamiya lexan colours.
I use it for my Ferrari F1 bodies (and shoes xD). This stuff will hold it together no matter how hard you crash or tore the body.

Motor mount too is fine. It was just a little piece of iron wire between rotor and mangnet. Thanks everyone for helping me fixing it.

...not sure, but I had problems w/ ShoeGoo when I used it on the painted surface of Tamiya paint. It created weird splotches where it discolored the paint ...made my beautiful paint job look horrible. ....but that is just me, if you've had great experience w/ it I can't argue that.

Personally I like the tape method, its always worked well for me, looks good and doesn't ruin the surface. The tape should last a pretty long time and can easily be replaced should you need to.

Very nice rcmadkiwi! Does it have popup headlights? I have a Mazda RX7 body too and i used double sided tape but it doesn't hold the headlights for long time.

Guys I have to change my tyres but I don't know how to rumove the old ones and install the new ones. Can you help me please?

Another question: how do I upload images? I click the "Attachments" button but an error message appears when I try to upload an image

Awesome, thanks everybody. Gonna go get some thinner double sided tape (all I have is the thick foam tape) and I'll look up Uhu glue. If this comes out nice I'm not going to want to drive it. lol I'll be sure to post some pictures too.

Manlito, if the tires are glued on the rims you will have to soak the wheels in acetone to dissolve the old glue. I've never done it myself but that is what everyone says to do. I've always had off-road buggies so I always just get new rims along with tires. Never had a nice set of wheels before.

I'm in New Zealand & don't know if Uhu glue is available to everyone unless you're happy to ship it.

]roadblock you may also be able to use hot glue as well. I have used it on the rear panel of a hpi body to attach the bumper valance panel

That wasn't a Tamiya body shell so no pop up headlights as it'll mess with the aerodynamics & I think they just look silly. There's light buckets fitted so I left that part of the body clear & fitted 9w LED lights which are really powerful & run off a separate battery as I didn't want to drain the car's.
Pretty sure there's a size limit when attaching pictures to a post & if it's too large it will not work. The how to depends on what you're using to connect to the Internet & I can only comment on how to with an iPad/IOS.

Okay, finally completed my TT02s build ...here are a few photos of the chassis.

Body just arrived in the mail today, so i'll be starting on that very soon and posting some new photos when that is complete.

Its so clean! Looks great man! Love those wheels and tires, do you have part numbers for those by any chance?

I finally got all my weirdness (torque steer like issues) sorted out. Took a lot of stripping and rebuilding, checking everything. What really turned the corner (odd as it is) was removing all of the shims I used to take slop out.

Nothing was binding in anyway I could see or feel, but clearly something was binding "just enough". I loosened the car up (I had shimmed the universals, out drives, etc - anywhere with a lot of slop), and as soon I re-slopped up the whole chassis, suddenly (and go figure) it was super planted and a joy to drive.

That is indeed strange
It is a normal method here in Germany to add Shoegoo where the lexan might break to make the body tougher. Are you sure it were Tamiya rattlecan lexan colours like PS-1, and so on were this happened? Or was the colour not dried inside out?
I am doing this for many years now with TC and Tamiya F1 bodies and never had an experience like you mentioned. Strange, strange...

I got the wheels on eBay, -i was nervous since they are an off-brand, BUT since I am not racing this car I was willing to take a chance and there were less than $5 shipped.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/111277285792...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

They seem pretty good to me, the quality is on par w/ other wheels i've bought from name brand manufacturers ...I can't tell a difference. They certainly seem like they'll hold up just fine.

The tires I have on there are a pack of Team Assosciated's

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCZD2&P=7

They are only $10 ...and are fine for parking lot bashing. I wouldn't use them and expect great grip ...not for racing. For parking lot they are perfect. Even on a high grip track they'll do fine (i've used these on some of my non-racers at the local track ...as long as there is sauce on the track you'll get good grip).

yeah, I had a bad experience,
I tried it once and never again. ...I am guessing that the shoe goo was applied too soon after the paint job??? -I believe it was applied w/in the same day I painted the body. That could have been the issue?

In any case there was something I obviously did wrong.

In my experience Tamiya kits (at least the kits I've built) like a little bit of slop. Its counter-intuitive ...but they seem to run just fine w/ 1-2mm of slop here and there. On my TT02 build the front wheels could be pushed in towards the chassis about 2mm ...There is a bit of slop in the front cv joints (which is what I used). I just left the slop ...testing my car it handles really well.

Speaking of, I spent a little time tweaking my car on the setup station. It handles great. I gave it about 2-3degree of camber in rear and 1-2 in front (dont' have the exact numbers in front of me). Also the stock toe in in rear and about 2degree of toe out in front. ...I did some initial runs w/ the car (no body yet), and it is really planted. Steers straight and handles nice. I am actually impressed w/ this kit, for $120 or whatever I spent, this kit performs quite well. I may have to get one for my son when he starts racing as a first car for our novice class.

-------
started work on the body this morning before work. I hope to have it complete early next week!
