More split does give you more steering. I run mine about .75 split and I like the feel. We have a tight track where the high speed corners are all left so my front left and rear left tires wear more than the rights. But little change front to back so the split stays the same over 8 min. So I can run the same set of tires as long as I swap them from side to side for the mains then run a new set ( or trued) for the mains. While most on our track have gone to the green/blue combo I just tried Magenta/purple and I can now flow better through the corners but the car rotates through the center mass and not the rear tires.

Which micro steering servos do you recommend for 17.5 or mod 1/12? I have an Airtronics M12 radio if that matters. Thanks!!

The Sanwa BLS-HS (3.7volt) and HV (6volt) are good servos to use, you need to drill new mounting holes though. Plus, with the M12, you can use SSR mode with them.

I just put a futaba 9650 in mine and it worked very well for me.

I spaced out the fact that my X12'16 has a floating steering mount or I would have gotten a Savox. (Their centerline is a little off compared to the others)

Had a problem with my Xray X12 16 if anyone can help? The ride height at the rear pod beneath the side links are different each side by 0.4 mm on average. I have rebuilt and measured the front ends and both arms are the same and not tweaked. Ride height is the same everywhere except where i mentioned. So pod sag is affected. Pivot and side links are free and not binding. Any ideas i'm stumped?

Did you rotate the rear tires left to right in the rear to see if it's the same?

All tyres have been trued so cant be an issue. Im thinking at worse the chassis has a minor twist but cant see how that's happened. Literally rebuilt the car several times and cant work it out.

So I just got into 1/12 a few weeks ago. First class i've ever raced. I'm running a CRC Carpet Knife. Finally had a chance to sit down with one of the local authorities on 1/12 and he really dialed my car in well. Now I just need to get my own support gear all set up.

The big question I have is what is everybody using for a pit bag? I'd like to find something that I can carry the car itself in as well as the radio and parts. Not looking to break the bank with an ultra fancy setup. Also it seems like the ultra fancy setups are GIGANTIC and I don't have a monstrous trunk or cabin in my car. I've seen guys at my track wield around these monstrous wheeled square packs for Touring Car and I don't need anything that elaborate or huge. So I wanted to check out the purpose build offerings before figuring out if I want to do that or just use a combination of Plano 3700's and a travel/gym bag or the likes. Shoot me a PM with recommendations and ideally links to Amazon or wherever you can buy this stuff. I don't want to subscribe to a thread that has so much movement on it.

Thanks!

-Shane

P.S. if anybody has any old school suspension arms. like associated part #4115 I could use a few packs

He Shane, welcome to 12th scale. I can bring a bag you might like to the Banana this Friday.

See if this helps

Any performance gain out of this old school front end? Looks like fun to try. What's the screw hole sizes?

As much as they try, Carbon sheets aren't always perfect. Also, the weight distribution on the chassis can affect it as well as the preload on the side springs. Even side springs can not be perfect. Use a tweak station and set it up and see where you are at after getting it leveled off.

8-32, same spacing as the original Associated dynamic strut.

6/32 or 8-32 screws on the old school front ends Edward.

Speed Merchant front end is essentially the same with adjustable caster.

Unsure if there is any performance gain (likely isn't) but it's what was on the car when I got it. and it'd cost as much as a new car just to get the parts to convert it back. So i've just ran what i've got. Not sure of the screw size either. I really need to get a caliper.
