Masking tape is great for getting heavy grit off, however, tires still should be cleaned, or skimmed to open the pores back up

I usually just use a lint roller to remove most of the surface stuff run to run.

Sometimes on some track, the tires actually build up with a bunch of gunk, and I use electric motor spray to get rid of all that nonsense. Most solvents aren't exactly great for our tires, but they'll work better clean rather than gunked up :P.

Who do I contact about making this a Wiki? Instead of trying to sift through 45,000+ posts it might be easier to have something easily edited by everyone with useful data for new and old racers alike.

What are you guys using instead of a receiver pack? I know there are "boosters" or whatever that let you run a regular 2S ESC with a 1S car like the 12th scale....

I searched on A Main and couldn't find it....I am sure I am looking for it the wrong way...
There are a few different ones around, but I'd say that this one: http://www.hobbywingdirect.com/produ...-dc-dc-booster is one of the most popular(& if you can't find it at A Main, you can also order directly from Hobbywing's site).....

I asked Amain and they said they have no plans on stocking the hobbywing booster at this time. It's the cheapest one I have found other than the Hobbyking, and which is OOS.

As a side note, Amain also told me they don't plan on stocking the NEW PROTOform BMR-12 when I asked about it as well.

?? Hobbyking has the naked version in stock:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__37813__TURNIGY_Voltage_Booster_for_Servo_Rx_1S_t o_5v_1A_US_Warehouse_.html

the only difference between this and the out of stock: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...r_for_BEC.html

is thicker wire insulation and shrink wrap. the thin wire holds up fine, but I like to add shrink wrap to the naked version.

It's really only a 5v booster? Not sure that's much of a boost to even worry about.

unwiring the shrink wrapped booster and replacing the pins w/ wires will allow you to make that HW unit even smaller and lighter...
