It comes with a one way but i don't know of anyone who uses a one way on carpet. Try it.

Which of the blocks dont come with the kit?

Does soemone have a carpet setup?

I will have my front diff soon an I want to know which shims I will need for the outdrives...Part number for these will be really appreciated! Thx!

All blocks except the front rear A1 block. You would want to buy some extra D and C blocks as well.
I posted a carpet foam setup several pages back. It's a good starting point but i am still tweaking it.

Only the front A-bridge block isn´t in the kit.
Regarding setups there were a lot on this thread. It depends if you´re running foams or rubber tires.

TRF415 is not discontinued, and I believe the 415 will be better for carpet than the 415MS. The 415 have a 3.0mm chassis, which is very rigid and from talking to quite a few carpet racers, stiff chassis is a good thing. The 415 also have beefier suspension components than the MS. The MS's suspension is light weight but usually carpet tracks are tight and lay out with strong boards which can be harsh on the car's suspension during a crash or a tap. The 415 suspension is also shared with other existing Tamiya models (TA04 and TB02) so I don't think it will be discontinued anytime soon.

I tend to use one-ways in the car on carpet, but a) I'm using rubber tyres, b) suits nmy driving style. Although I will admit for a tight and twsity track a spool (or diff) would probably be a better option, just so you can use the brakes.

There are a couple guys in my area using the 415 with a one way in mod with foam tires. I will be trying it out myself next week and will let you guys know how it works.

marc isn't even sure if he used a 2,5mm chassi or 3mm... but he had hpi 0degr. rear hubs in his (satoshis) car...

Using the stock rear arms and 28mm foams,what modification or hop-ups will be needed to keep the rear under 190mm?

Ok guys got to finally run the 415 on carpet. As Chris R. mentioned above the car was dialed, able to put the car anywhere I wanted it. Gave Raul and his Mi2, who is top dog at Hobby Chamber something to think about. I beleive Raul is starting to see blue.

My carpet set-up: basic 415 kit
> stock 415 arms
> A block in the front
> low friction belts
> Tamiya Purple springs FR / Gray rear, both were long
> 50wt shock oil, stock shock tower settings
> DUAL ONE-WAY Bearings
> Parma Foam Plaid/Purple 28mm.
> ball studs in the bottem holes of the steering knuckles. (only cause the alum ball stud broke in the top hole when I tap the inside of a board.) I'm switching to steel
> Parma Alfa 190 body
That's it. Assemble the rest of the car as instructed.

Since, I finished building the car Saturday, really Raul finished it and raced Saturday night I did not have time to try different set-up. The set-up above was an unbelievable starting point. Fast and easy to drive, a little too much mechnaical grip, but I will work on that.

I will have more to post shortly.

Rims and Tires.

I used the Parma Plaid/Purple, rubber worked great but I found the rims to be made for the TC3 and American axles and hex pieces.

I'm now looking for rims that are tighter on the axles.

Tamiya measurments:
> hex pieces: 12.00mm
> axles 5mm

Parma measurements:
> hex pieces in the rim: 12.25-12.30mm
> axles hole is drill to accept and 8-32 axle.

Problem:
> rim wobbles on the Tamiya axles until clamped down
> after running noticed that the inside of the rim shows signs of the hex's digging in the rim

Anyone have recommendation on which rims fit the axles tighter

TRC wheels fit the car lot better, I noticist same thing with Parma foams (and wheels are really flexy). Also Parma wheels are offset little different, and makes my car about 192mm wide.

I think I'll stick with Jaco or TRC, the Parma foams were cheaper, but outer ring on front Plaids were so thin! about only 1/8"! by the time I rounded the edges, the outer ring wasn't even making contact.

dawg, if you're using regular offset rims like TRC, it'll stay under 190mm, assuming you are using aluminum rear hubs and 1/2mm shim. However, can't use the rear sway bar, since it'll rub.
