Just about every 1/8th scale has at least the front CV joints exposed. And not even all have rear boots on the CVs. It's very hard to have covered front joints where the boots hold up, due to the steering angles. Any lip you add for a boot to attach to, will probably limit your max steering angle. Rear boots only have to withstand up and down suspension travel.

well mate the tekno is a great truck good hardnly but I had to get rid of it because was parts supported what let me down since then I brought my self a losi scte 2.0 were my local hobby shop has parts supported for it but I found that you need a 550 can for it

And makes no sense, I can't think of a single reason why a manufacturer would want to expose CV joints to elements...
