SC10 4x4 Thread
Though, if acceleration was the only measurement, lock it down and you can wheelie if you want. But, as us racers know, what good is that?
In short, I guess I would look at it this way if I was a new guy wanting to try the Center Diff. Whose opinions do I put value in, those who have used both and a vast majority are reporting success with it over slipper pads, or those who are saying its no good but have not tried it?
And what about events where the SC10 4x4 lost? what were those conditions?
The VTS does work, you are right but again, is conditions based. So does the Center Diff, with the same possible limitations, or I should say, areas where it shines.
One way to look at it WC, if a center slipper setup was the best thing to have, I would have thought we would have seen that used in 1/8 scale by now, and no, I don't meant like a slipper differential like what RC Monster sells, but a pure center slipper unit replacing the center diff. Seems all those vehicles, and I don't see a requirement for center differentials in 1/8 in the ROAR manual but could be wrong, if it was that much better, we would see it used more.
Or, to take a SCT perspective on it, durango felt that the benefits of a center differential style setup was such that there latest revision of the truck comes with it as standard. Now, even you have to Admit that Team Durango isn't exactly Tyco.

And what is it you need to see? I would think that people who actually use the product and are not sponsored by the manufacturer would be able to give a more honest assessment than those who have some sort of financial or sponsored stake in the product?
Well guys I did something today totally unexpected. I traded my truck away.
I got a fantastic deal on a brand new Losi that will get the MIP kit put on it.
I'm excited as I heard this truck will be a lot easier to drive especially where I'll be running is primarily outdoor.

Im thinking about picking up one of these. I've owned the Losi and its great but im looking for somethning new and you can see in my signature I love my AE cars. How much additional money am I looking to spend to get it up to race level? Im gonna be running a BH LT4,Reedy 4.0 sonic. Just curious what im getting in to before I pull the trigger.
When AE come out with a oil filled center diff I will try it, till then on loose outdoor tracks there is no beating the SCTE around here.

+1 . The vehicle in my opinion was setup for specific conditions. We are basically tuning outside of what it was made for.
Funny, got better traction and usable acceleration with the center diff than without in slick conditions. as well as less wheel spin. Will see how it goes on carpet with more pins.

+1. With the M2C blocks, its amazing how good it is.
And those conditions were what again?

And that driver is who again? Marcus, any idea who WC is talking about?

AHH i see i got drug into this once more, let it be know that once again the Pink Panther started it. So the driver that Rotten Cherry is talking about is Cameron Kellog ,What WC failed to mention was the otherside of the story but that is to be expected( i have talked to Cameron and do so on a regular basis), what he also didnt mention is that Cameron has repeatedly dusted his azz with the center dif on the same track but of course that means nothing.
I am going to lay some facts out there for you all to chew on, its funny how Cherry is now riding the AVID triad system huh? Well i know David Joor pretty well (we live in the same city and i have made proto parts for him in the past)and we have been having some interesting conversations about some things and there has been some testing................ cant wait to see how tweedle dumb handles the situation

I am out, this is all the information that you will hear from me on the subject.
I will ask this though, if the slipper setup is so good Wicked Chump why did AE release the SC8.2?
Just got back from the track after a couple new tuning updates and the first run on the new rear Exotek hubs. These work fantastic. I found that using the 2mm spacer that it comes with and an additional 2mm spacer takes me right to the same height that using the B4.1 rear carbon hub tower I was using before I got them. I'm still using 7mm of spacers in the inner as well. I've also put in 7k diff fluid up front and 5k in the rear with the ball diff and 4 pins. It felt perfect. I ended up taking 3rd in the A-main tonight on a track I only ran once before and had no practice time. This truck is perfect now and I am very glad I gave it the chance it deserves!

And one of my sloppy pit area just for kicks!

Those exo's are nice huh? I don't consider them only bling, they really make swapping from 8mm mod to stock so easy. And you say so is the b4 stands? Try taking them off back to stock in 10 seconds.
Love 'em. Course they look great too. >_> I took off my 8mm mod and my traction rolling stopped all together. didn't do it once a race, and typically I would 2 or 3 times a race. Truck drives like a dream. Now if only I could keep consistent i'd be fighting for 1st.
Edit: Oh, and very well put, Marcus.

2.0 rear
1.8 front
Is a good starting point. I've stuck with it for the summer. Again: the 8mm mod did me "NO" favors on high bite tracks.
