doubt that was the reason , more favor something else like a hard landing ....

I have never broken or seen someone else crack one yet ..

damn, i hate the fucking diffs of this truck! I can't get them tight, whatever i do, 1 day at the track and all the oil comes out of the outdrives! I think the oil comes out beetween the 2 ball-bearings at the outdrives, so maybe i'll buy some new diff-cases without the bearing-mod

I think you built them wrong. I have never had a problem with my diffs leaking.

I just rebuild them 2 times this week xD i think the whole case is fucked up the outdrives have wobble, the diff makes strange noises and its leaking like hell. What could be the problem? Maybe too less shim-discs or i didn't cut the case well, so the outer bearing has wobble?

get a fresh case and all the parts that look worn.

make sure to limit your shocks with the grey clips 8mm so your bones dont touch the outdrives when shocks are compressed

If they wobble, the cases are shot. Thats why some users do the bearing modification.

I lightly sand the large half before installation on a piece of 800 grit sandpaper to make sure it's perfectly flat.

Limiting shock uptravel 7mm (shims on the OUTSIDE of the shock, on the shock shaft) is really important.

Can someone point me towards instructions and theories of the diff bearing mod?

Well, not so sure anymore. My SC10 is 100% stock (always a good starting point). And very fast, that's not the problem...

First of all it is making noise (cracking). First thought it was the clicker but I closed it and it is under power and not while braking. It's also not a "clicker sound". It must be a gear box... As mentioned; the car is 100% stock. Can't remember adding shims and just checked the manual; also no mention of them. Is there a common issue with the gearboxes? Hopefully with a common solution?

My biggest problem however is that it doesn't handle very well. My B44.1 is sooooo easy to drive fast. This SC10 twitches, the back comes out all the time and basically it slides all over the place. Any advice? Don't feel like reading 2,013 pages... Hope you forgive me.

And to make it even worse; my friend decided for the SCTE and let me have a go; very smooth and very easy to drive without any tuning.... That pissed me off. I have read the AE is more difficult to go fast with but this much difference I did not expect.

It's a beautiful car and I love AE but so far I'm disappointed. Spent so much money to build a nice truck and now this

I dry on an outdoor medium traction clay track which is quite short and technical.

Any ideas what I should change to make it more stable?
You will get ALOT of advice on here about getting this and that, IMO it would be better to just change trucks before you spend any cash on it, after you buy all the stuff to make this truck fast for a whole race, your mate will still own you. After all the reading you did, I'm surprised you went with this truck for the track you race at.

Copy this.
- If you don't have the coupled parts, run the VTS standard with 20/20 pulleys.
- If you don't have those expensive weights, make them.
- If you're a running 540 can, don't worry about the 60grams under the slipper for now.
- You don't have to run emulsion, I run bladders and it felt better for 'my track'.
- Don't ask about the mentioned "steel diff inserts". They haven't been released.

You will see potential with this setup, but unfortunately if you stay with us, you're not in for "box stock" amazing by 'any' means. (Ignore Wild Choke, the car has major issues we have to "try" and tune out of it)

Losi has always been a forgiving car chassis. AE has never really been so much.

Whats the most efficient way to get the front and rear diffs out for a change in oil weight?

Kody

Just reused your old cases & coned .2 shims.

Install the old shims with the cone side facing the case bushing , then top off with a new flat .2 shim, then install the sun gear

Also remove the smaller .2 shim used on the out drives ...

Don't forget to install 8mm of external limiters on the shocks to help prevent the Cva's from bashing the out drives cups....

ACILL

Use a electric screw driver to help make servicing easier ...

I'm at the point where I have my truck as good as I can get it, unfortunately I run a 1/8 track that is wide 12 foot wide lanes and is almost all straights. I can own any losi on the corners but any straight the car is so unstable at high speeds I can not go flat out like the losi. Don't get me wrong I love this truck but wish I lived closer to a tight indoor track or even a tighter outdoor where this car shines. Not giving up its just poor me vs 18-20 losi it will be nice to beat them someday.
