That would have to be crazy high cst to he thick enough. Are you mixing the shock oil with grease to bring the weight up?
Sonds like a nasty mess to clean next rebuild though

Personally 5k/5k diff oil, but not using slipper. Slipper peeps run 10k to 30k, I've even heard 60k

I saw a thread which mentioned heavy shock oil, pledge. What about a touch of black grease or green slime?

I feel like I've used shock oil and Associated black grease in the past (not for the same rebuild) and it was okay, but want to hear some opinions from people.

And one last thing, no pressure, but I'm ready to close up the case and want to get cleaned up before the kids get up from their naps, so answer now SVP!
I think he's talking about the tranny not the diff. I use little black grease. Shock oil leaks out. The grease is good for catching and debris or dirt and holding it so it doesn't bounce around in the gear mesh. Also quiets things down a bit. Green slime would work well also

Due to impatience and the impending end of nap time, I decide to go out on my own (a la Family Feud). I used just a dab of Associated diff lube. My thinking is it will help lengthen the life of the teeth, but probably all it will do is quiet things down and collect dirt. Hopefully it will help, but if not, hopefully it won't do any evil.

fq, I was a little unclear in my first post, I meant something to put between the top/idle/drive gears.

Got it. I've never actually lubed plastic gears. Only the metal gears in 1/8.

Don't have a problem with noise as all I can hear when driving with the noisy ass Losi's

i put a dab of 5k diff oil on mine last time i had it apart. I have no idea if it helped anything, but coming from an automotive mechanic background any gear spinning creates friction and needs some sort of lube

Another Club race Weekend.

Q1 - 5th: and lapped
Q2 - 3rd: rough race
Q3 - 1st cleanest i've ever ran. TQ

Amain - DNF: Ballstud tore out of the shock tower (again) but it was a terrible race so it didn't really matter.

Truck is... amazing. If I could just stop traction rolling. I cannot STOP traction rolling in 3 different corners, I'm on Faster than TQ pace, but the rolling is kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilling me.

Try raising your rear roll center by lowering the inner camber link stud.

wouldn't you want to raise the inner rear ball stud, at least, that is what I did to stop traction rolling on carpet.

Anyone have the front top shaft gear come off the shaft? Was assembling my factory team and noticed that when I was assembling the clicker assembly I had excessive movement. Well, the gear on the top shaft just slid right off.

It can change depending on driving style and when you were traction rolling. Typically, going to a higher rear roll center will help stop traction rolling at the beginning of a turn, especially if you go into the turn off-power.

I had that happen, was the newest top shaft with the flats for the coupled slipper. I contacted Associated (several times), they said they would send me a new one if I could send the old one back (for their engineers to review)... never did see a new one.
