Pfff, I cant even get to full speed on an outdoor 8th scale track with my tekin 550 2 pole. All it does is spin all 4 wheels. If I could get off of my power to the ground I would fly.

I never even had power issues with a 2 pole 540. Heat issues, but not power. Like i said, I cant get it to the ground.

Running no motor timing and 10 Deg through the ESC. Maybe I'm just looking for more without wanting to "Pay" for it. IE timing and boost.??

TIP
Don't favor a gear for top speed on the straights , anyone can go faster but the problem with that is they dive deep & wide into the sweeper losing time usually.

Try to gear the truck for the infield like the jumps & such .
Not the straight so much .

That is where you can find real speed , the straights you can even give a little time and still get faster lap times overall because most of the track is on the infield ...

But only you can judge ...

Sounds to me like you can try a larger pinion....

If you think your losing time on straights ?
gear up !

Do this before more timing or boost ...

Make sure to check your motor temps after 2 or 3 min ....

also before changing anything ?
ck ESC & radio settings if set correctly....

one thing to keep in mind with motor selection, at some point, the pinion size gets big enough that you can't get the motor out with the pinion on. Why does this matter?Putting the pinion on when the motor is already on can be a real pain without an angled wrench.

wonder if I coudl just dremel the opening larger?

Agreed. Castle 1410 here, geared 16/62 and I can run it until lipo cutoff (> 10 mins) and it's still only 155.

i drilled a hole from the bottom and countersunk it so i just put a normal 4-40 screw and nut on the other side to fill the hole
