SC10 4x4 Thread
thanks for the gearing help guys, i will try a 13 and a 14 and check temps. 150-160 degrees. the only thing is the mains are 2 minutes longer than the heat races so hope i can get a second faster.
sorry about dropping a F bomb before i forgot this is a associated forum and we have a little more class. just i was going to my LHS and didnt want to buy a handful of pinions i didnt need at 10$ a wack.
good luck to everyone at there races stay smooth and out of trouble! because track marshalls are slow these days.

Basically the chart will only work if you use the 62t spur gear. I shoot for a MPH around 35 or so......
The chart shows the effect pinion size has on a range of motors. While using 2s and a 62t spur. Pinion from 10t to 20t.
Pay no mind to the color effect, it denotes the target range of around 30mph.
My traction improved in the rear with the blue springs. I tried to go softer for more rear traction, but it had the opposite effect. Kinda weird, but that was my experience. I had the team kits, so I already had them. Borrow a set and try it out before you buy. Several people just get the front spring kits and fine the spring that works for them.
Not really traction I'm looking for. It just feels soft like it wants to roll, And it's loose. Like it takes more time to square up outta the corners. I had trouble hitting the trippel the other night, right after that left hand 90* corner. I'm thinking maybe stiffer but I don't want to loose traction.
Notice the scte's drive out of that 90° into the double a couple turns before the straight? Maybe Mayfield was just taking a more conservative line (single/single) through that section and didn't want to roll the dice there, but that's what I see as the main advantage of the scte at this track... the center gear diff applying power where the slipper slips.
Mayfield had a lot more squirt on the straights and did a great job at protecting his position while staying clean and consistent FTW.
(hope to make it out this week and get on that track before they change it)

A2 was a different story.

I did notice Mayfield's superior Reedy power & on the 2nd heat the center diff cars spinning their wheels .....
Didn't get to see much of the losi's once Ty bobbled at the beginning Mayfield checked out... except for that pass on cavaleri, not much wheel spin there.

Great race and I'm bummed I didn't make it out there with it being only 30 min from home
