I'm about to buy a Thunderpower 3800mah 65c shorty for my B4.1 but I was wondering what others are getting for run times with this lipo? Running blinky through a GTB2 and sonic 13.5. Sometimes the mains are 12min.

Vin and Ray, thanks for the help I really appreciate it. After reading your suggestions I think my problem may be the oil. I have always liked Losi oil and have several bottles laying around from my 22, so I used 27.5wt in the front with #2 pistons and red Losi BB springs, and 25wt with #3 pistons in the rear with yellow Losi BB springs. I also learned that Losi oil is slightly lighter than the Associated oil of the same weight.

So with the set up I am running now it would be equivalent to running AE 25 in front and 22 in the rear. Too light... The car sure has tons of grip but is a little slap happy. I always run red AKA inserts in the rear. I use several different tires in the rear depending on the track I am running and the condition, time of day, etc.. Fronts are usually Vectors or Ribs in super soft.

I use the #2 pistons in the front and #3 in the rear from the Worlds set up sheet that came with the kit. I have read about using #2, #2, drilled as you guys suggested, losi pistons, Ghea pistons, 2 stage pistons, etc. What seems to be the best all around piston set up to use right now?

Please understand I am not looking for a quick fix, or trying to get other people to do the work for me when it comes to my car set up, but I work a lot of hours and do not have a lot of time to wrench at the track and experiment. I come on these forums when I have time and get some good info, tips, and tricks, so I can get the car set up and on the track to have some fun. Thanks again for the help.

I have the same battery. Have not clocked the run time, but running qualifying heats with a Tekin RS ESC, and a Tekin 13.5 geared at 69/31, I only use maybe 900 to 1100mah after a 5 minute heat. I estimate I could go 15 minutes or so before the cut off. I do notice a slight drop off after about 10 minutes. Not as punchy but still plenty of juice. Great battery IMO. I am going to buy another one as soon as I have a chance. LHS has them for about $80. I like to support my local shops.

I see you are in Gilbert. So am I. Do you run at Glitch at all? I can let you try the battery if you like. PM me and let me know.

223 is soo much smoother, especially heavy braking at the end of straight. I've been running my throttle and brake minimums at 3 and this helps a little bit more.

Yeah Glitch is where I mostly run but have been super busy since Cactus. I am gonna try to stop by for the SC shoot out today. I decided to bite the bullit and bought the lipo at SRS about an hour ago. I figured it would be enough mah. Where are you placing yours when you run at Glitch? Also, what Avid/Losi springs are you running with the shorty?

I'm running the Humpty set up for the most part. 1/2 a pad in front and a SC10 pad in the rear, cut to fit. I run a 1/2 oz in front of the receiver. Humpy runs Kyosho springs, pink/gold if I am not mistaken. I run the Losi springs red/yellow, but I am going to play with it a bit and try red/white and orange/yellow. Same set up works at Glitch for the most part. But I usually run there for practice on a dry track. Not sure how it would handle watered. It's great at SRS watered, I use Double-D green compound with red AKA foams. Don't listen to me though, I just built the car. Raced it once and practiced twice. So far so good.

Did you buy the version with the bullet connectors or are the wires attached internally. Did they have any more with the bullets? I will try to pick one up myself this afternoon.

Noticeably smoother. The biggest difference for me was that with the default set up, the throttle comes on faster (More sensitive), but I like it. I like the blinky and blinky locked setting for stock class. Pretty cool.

Yeah it was the bullet style. They have 2 at gilbert hobbytown and 3 at srs. I am running red yellow losi springs but put on avid's after cactus. I will be at Glitch on tuesday to try them out on wet track.
