Good write up Craig,my car with bb springs is very forgiving an pretty darn plush, keeps my car on 4 wheels alot when I mAke mistakes!!more time on 4 wheels means more laps and better times, maybe not the fastest but most consistent and that's whAt you need, well for me anyways lol

99% of all trophy trucks and buggies are dual rate shocks front and rear, the top spring is nice hitting the smaller stuff which really makes it plush, then you get in those 4 foot whoop sections and the bottom spring comes alive, even most sandrails run dual rate shocks with triple bypass, that's a whole other topic!

What springs did you find to be equal to the AE Green and browns?

I figured it out. I in the first 1 and used the other two to cover it up.

The biggest thing you did was prove me right LOL I was over thinking this stuff to the point that it's slowing me down.

Well since I have no std springs this week , I'll be running my BB springs again. I guess I'll go batty insane and try some stuff I never would have before LOL

With the amount of times the same question about what springs are the same as another brand, this should definatley be a sticky!!!
Anyone else agree? I think its time....

We can't sticky a link or a single post in a thread. It is all or nothing.

Racers, watch your language please.

Default Air in shocks

I build my v2 shocks exactly exactly like the video saxton posted on YouTube. But no matter what more oil less oil slower bleed faster bleed do it 5 times when I turn the shock upside down I can always feel a pocket of air. Pump it a few times take the top and there will 3-5 large air bubbles. also the shaft sucks back in slightly

This literally driving me crazy. I'm not new to rc but I am to bleeder caps. My race buddy has b44.1 and has the same problem.

I watched saxton video 20 times and I still have air in the shock. I used green slime on the o rings, tried new shock caps, maybe someone can advise or make a point I'm missing

There is always going to be air in the shock, it's normal and your not going to get around it.

If you have limiters in the shock you almost always get a bit of air trapped under the piston. Drive the piston up and down slowly a few times, not letting it rise all the way up to clear the surface of the oil. Set the shock aside for a bit and let the air bubbles rise to the surface. Then continue with the procedure. When you are done, the shaft should rebound very slightly after you compress it. The rebound should be equivalent to about the volume displaced by tightening the bleeder screw (not much in other words). Hope this helps.
