Rumble in the Rockies layout for 2012

Hello WC how is the ECT going up there in the North West? Are they still doing it? I know you are running on tighter tracks like I do here at HDRP, MHOR and IR-CR. I've gone to 5k front and 5k rear on my diff setup (going to give it a shot at IR-CR this weekend). It seems to work for A-Team at MHOR so I thought I'd give it a try. Are you all sticking with the 30k / 5k on the tracks in your area? I was running 20k / 5k and for the most part it worked for me on our more flowing tracks but I need to try something different on our tighter less flowing layouts Only reason for asking is my test n tuning time is limited to race days. I'm not able to get to the track very often for practice.

I did do a thorough tear down on my SC10 4x4 last night. Pleased to say the only parts I had to replace was the diff cases. Everything else was in great shape. Not bad for a truck just under a year old with several indoor and a couple big outdoor races on it.

A little ECT action If you know Woody tell him hi for me

Default SC10 4x4 Savox

I have a 1258tg savox servo that I was looking to install in my SC10 4x4 rtr. Looked at the three servo horns I have and it doesn't seem that any fit. Am I not looking at it close enough? Anyone have a metal servo horn recommendation that will work with the Savox and the clearance necessary for the bell crank. I have upgraded the bell crank to an strc but I don't think that makes a difference.

Have you contacted Associated directly? What did Rick say when you explained to him what you were looking to do?

the JR servo you mentioned is what I am running (or will be running I should say, its sitting on the bench) and its extremely fast in my T4. You should love it in the SC104x4. You will need a servo extension though.

Since this is a memorial car, have you thought of having someone make decals for it in honor of the fallen soldier? The guy who does the USVTA stuff does an excellent job, if you provide him the images he can pretty much create anything you want.

Sup Brian,

Brian Philips retired the ECT & we now have the fabulous Marty Barns hosting the Pacific N/w Shoot Out...
This is the first season of the Shoot-out..

Been using the set-up Cody & Ryan used at the Spektrum race , if interested I will Pm it to you.

The set-up uses no overdrive & 10K in the ft diff & 7k in back .

the 10k bring on smoother steering then the overdrive with thinner oil .

performs the best I have tried as of yet...

Nice jump .....
TY for the Picture and best of luck at the RUMBLE !!!!

Ps
Everyone knows Woody ...

Thank you WC. Yes please I'd like to take a look at that setup. I'm not going to make the Rumble this year I just got back form the Reedy Race. I'm heading to UT this weekend for some club racing and going to try and get ready for their April Fools race.
Tell Woody hi for me. I missed him this year when he was in town for the holidays.

Thank you for your help

Anyway the rest of us mere mortals can get this setup? I'd be interested in seeing what all it involved.

that would have been too easy for him to do long ago but then people would know and he would be forced to admit that what works for him at his track may not work at every track.
Very easy to just completely ignore the posts and people you do not trust

Heck, I would think WC would want everyone to have the setup so if it is great, then everyone's SC104x4 would be great and whip the losi's lol.

So here is question, currently if you are using the MTK clutch basket or similar, what kind of diff weights do you feel comfortable using on :

- Tight tracks
- flowing tracks

I am thinking of trying 10K up front, 3K in the rear on a carpet track here.

Also, used the search feature but found conflicting info so I am going to ask. Using the Losi SCTE wheels which from what I read do fit, do they make the vehicle wider, shorter, or the same as the stock AE wheels?

And is there any difference between the SCTE wheels and the XXX-SCT wheels?

Thanks.

If you know any of the words in the post that I could search for I will give that a shot too.

Will be using this initially (or in combination with things I think will work) on a tight carpet track over jumps, so if there are anything changes you recommend of the bat for the setup I am all ears.
