Does anyone use a shorty servo in the b4 ?like the Orion 1009?or should I just stay with the full size?

Fullsize. You want the weight distribution.

you can easily stick weights in the open space behind the "shorty" servo if you already have one.

but if your buying new standard size servo would most likely be cheaper, and have the weight you want.

I've got a shorty servo in mine (S9551). If you need more weight up front you can add lead or even move the battery forward.

Not sure if anyone else is running into this problem but in AZ it is literally impossible to find the Losi spring cups for the 22 BB conversion. So I have found a decent alternative for people who just cant wait. I bought some of the older Losi spring cups like the ones found on the XXXT part #LOSA5079, and then I bought 4 of the TRA3768 shock collars. The spring cups are just slightly smaller than the 22 cups, so I took a razor blade and split the traxxas collar so I could fit it over the spring cup. Then I super glued the traxxas collar to the spring cup and cut the shaft opening the same size. Spring sets on it perfectly. Fits the AE shock end perfectly. Obviously its easier to use the Losi cups, but they are M.I.A. Out here. I will post a pic in a minute.

Anyone have luck being more consistent and faster with a shorty lipo? I'm not sure if should practice/race with it tomorrow or not..it seemed faster but if i'll be chasing my tail all day with setup i should stick with the normal pack and just practice my butt off, right? Any input is welcome

The hex fronts get rid of just about all the slop if you go that route at some point down the road. Its really nice not having to pull bearings all the time too... or if you don't want to do hex, let me know. I have a bunch of fronts that are much less convenient for me to use now if you need any.
What's the Hex System?

There is some play on the standard front wheels, but trying to remove that play can cause binding in the front wheels. I even had one of the button head screws back out during a race and the wheel took off ahead of the car.

I find that a big battery works just as good as a small battery on different layouts. the more open sweeping a layout is the more i will use a big battery, on the other hand the more tight a layout is the more I lean toward the shorty. There is no right or wrong, it is just a different feel.

You run front HEX rims instead of the bearing rims

the part numbers are posted all throughout this thread.

The track i run is fairly small(60x90' i think..maybe a little smaller) and medium-high grip, gold barcodes are the only thing that work here. I think i'll stick with the full size pack today, we both run HV packs so you know they're pretty heavy i assume(the 6000mah stick that is). Going to stick with silver fronts instead of orange and yelloe rear instead of pink today. Also changing to #1 piston up front with 35wt and 2 limiters, and in back a #3 drilled with #55 bit(well the metric equivalent) and probably 27.5 with 2 limiters. Off to the track i go!
