Saw these Viper products at my LHS and was wondering what the big difference is between the VTX10 and VTX10R if anyone can help? From what I gathered the VTX10R allows a slightly lower T motor... 6.5 vs 2.5 for the VTX10R.. I plan on running in a SC 10 stock class so a 17.5 Viper motor is quite possibly in my future...

Given these facts, I could run the VTX10 and have, what i'm asumming, the same performance and save myself like 40-50$.

Anyone provide insight? Thanks!

scracer- try retouching all your solder joints. Make sure there are no cold joints. Especially on the motor wires. Then rerun the calibration.

Frankie- you are going in the right direction. If you are going to ever run SC 4x4 or a low turn mod, then get the R. If not. The 10 will save you some bucks and do a great job.

a question what is the supplied rotor used in the vtx10 17.5 combo
and what would be an ideal situation to use a 12.5 high torque rotor
i am geared 73/32 in my 4wd buggy and 72/32 2wd buggy
cheers

Do any team drivers have a new setup using A30 firmware and 17.5 for my TLR 22? I'm racing on smallish indoor carpet Offroad and need more punch to clear some of the bigger tabletops. Currently geared 72/30

Thanks

Default vtrax

Hey guys, I just bought a used Viper Vtrax esc, its the origional esc. I have a tlr 22 buggy, and im running it on a carpet oval track, we have a street stock class that we moddify our 2wd buggys to run oval.My question is i have a losi 13.5 nd a ballistics 10.5 motors, i like the 10.5 better for this track, the straight is about 70ft. Which motor do you think would be best and what settings on the esc would be best? I have the proguage also. Also what gearing should i start with for the 10.5? Thanks for any info.

rick - I run anything from 8.5 to 17.5 in my SC. I owe you a call, I apologize.

Guy - great run on Friday nite, congrats on the win. 95 people at a Friday nite club race is awesome.

Bobby - go back some pages, some drivers are using the set up Smyka posted.

keresy - try 1 or 2 more teeth than you used previously with the 10.5. As for settings - I don't know if that straight is long enough for any boost setting so profile 2 might be a good place to start.

1. Is the 5.5 xl 550 3s lipo capable?
2. What is a good gearing starting point on a Lcg slash 4x4?
