For first buggy or truck I would stay with Associated or Losi. The Associated more than likely will have cheaper parts and the losi will have marginally better quality.

I say stay with 4s if you can. Much more efficient and easier on all the electronics. On 2s to get the same power of a 4s setup you will be pulling a lot of amps which is harder on the batteries,...

I would suggest looking at the B6.1 carpet buggy and using that setup as a starting point. It will be setup to handle the much higher traction and corner speeds associated with carpet racing.

Yea, I was just about to say the same thing about finding a used D8T chassis and combining to make a good running kit. Download D8t manual for part info. Parts for this truck should be more available.

Maybe the pin is flexing because of the smaller diameter. You could try drilling it out to accept the stock size which would be stiffer or get higher quality extenders like STRC or EXOTEK

I have ran 10 minutes mains with warmup laps in my 1/8 buggies using 4s 4500 mAh packs. This was with a Tekin 1900 kv motor on a medium size track. I would recommend 5000 mAh pack for larger tracks.
