Just got my 4PX. No battery??? That's lame.
I am severely disappointed that I cannot assign throttle speed to any of the dials, switches or mixes. I can assign 22 (22!!!!!!!!!!!) brake related items but NOT throttle speed. I may have to go back to my 4PK, or even my 3PK since they both do this with ease. I hope Futaba gets their head out of their butt and corrects this with a firmware update. If this isn't corrected by the time the outdoor season starts back up then I will have a very pretty turd on/in my hands.

Research???
These days, it's buy then complain.
I put my Throttle speed in to the Direct Menu. Just send Futaba a email (a nice email) and make a suggestion for an improvement. It makes no sense to do the steering and not the throttle.
I thought it was going to because of the turn and return having to be on 2 buttons.Mine came with a battery (Australia version). But you are right, its a bit lame not to come with a battery. I think its something the importers needs to address.

So I ran all three cars yesterday, all equipped with the R304SB, just had problem with my 17.5, same symptoms, all of a sudden delayed throttle response, going to trouble shoot, going to switch receivers-esc- maybe servo... let's see.
Radio using LIFE pack.

Thanks for the update.
May be a dumb question on my part... But, are all servos Digital? I suppose you'd find out quickly if not and if set that way and using analog types in that car.
Side note - this may be of consideration to help remedy an RF issue. Try setting the Fail Safe points to retain last known point for throttle and steering. If the glitch is an RF issue, the FS should help fill in the gap so-to-speak. Certainly if this helps it's not a long term solution suggestion - but may help in the meantime until a remedy is provided by Futaba.
Man! I toiled with buying a 4PK-R for proven exercising in the field. I'd also been able to use my existing R603FS C1 RX lot. Now, I'm starting to second guess my reasoning to push into the 4PX. Knocking on wood, I've had no issues pre/post upgrade in test. This is with the stock R304SB, R2104GF, and few sport R204GF-E. RXs.
From what I've read, the FHSS systems should handle upto ~28 simultaneous operators. Fingers crossed!

In my research I never saw that the throttle speed function could not be assigned to the dials. In the book the function select dial function feature description says, "This function assigns functions to dials". Throttle speed is listed as a function. Did I not read that correctly?
You are right, I "assumed" that function would be a "no brainer" but it looks like I am the one with no brains. I have thousands invested in cars so I figured the $490 that I paid would be worth it.
22 brake functions but no throttle speed function seems worthy of a complaint though.

I had a glitch once and traced it back to the stock transmitter life pack, given it's lower mah rating it seems to drop under load, the tx voltage shows as 6.2 usually, since running the Protek life pack I had for 2 yrs in my 4pk, problem sorted. I mainly run the R304SB-E rx and have a 2104 somewhere as well

I opted for and am running with the Protek LiFe pack too.

Glitching on my end this weekend was with a charged Hobbico LiFe pack and the FASST 614 receiver.
Wondering of those with the glitching are you turning the antenna vertically? It may have been coincidence, as I only had one run in with the antenna vertically, but it didn't glitch.

Is the glitching that people are experiencing causing the car to be uncontrollable as if there is someone on your frequency?
Or does the car and controller just shut down for a moment?
My 4px is working as expected, but the last time I ran my nitro truck, I did lose throttle for a very brief moment. As if the fail safe kicked in, but then I quickly regained it. I went onto the straight and the truck slowed down to almost a stop even though I was a WOT. I regained the throttle control, but I thought something was mechanically wrong with the car, so I pulled off. I checked over the truck and nothing was broken, and I went back out and the truck worked perfect ever since.
So now I'm thinking what if it was a momentary brown out? Battery was fully charged and the straight away is the closest part of the track to the driver's stand. Using the stock receiver and KO RSX servos. Life in the Tx and Lipo for the Rx. I've been running twice a week since I got the controller from Tower around Thanksgiving, and this might be the only potential issue (if it is the controller), and I've run R304SB, 614ff, and 614fs receivers. And I tend to run with the antenna down without any issues on a 200X150ft track.
