Futaba 4PX

Did anyone experience steering issues with the 4px?
I kind of notice the steering stutters when turning left, but absolutely ok when doing right.
Kinda similar to this guy here, except he has problems both left and right...

Going to try the contact cleaner approach tonight and if it fail, I really need to buy a backup transmitter while I get mine fixed. May not be Futaba though...Got a race coming up....sigh...
I suspected the steering pot failed, and happens ours are all failing at around the same time.

This unfortunately seems like a relatively common issue. Fortunately the cleaner approach worked for me, but I'm afraid I may have to send it in some day if it starts acting up again. Anyone have any experience with the turn-around time with Futaba?

Some updates after one night of mucking around with the radio:
1. Calibrated the steering and the stuttering to one side almost disappeared.
2. Blasted the steering pot with contact cleaner
The problem seems to be rectified.
However, if I move the servo steering left and right slowly repeatedly, the stuttering will return when steering to the left.
Tried with another servo, and it kinda killed it (BLS451).......
There is still a problem with the steering pot... but the problem is harder to replicate now.

When you guys are racing in the dirt outside and you see a light dust film on your 4PX, what are you using to clean it carefully?
I was thinking of getting a lens cleaning very soft brush for camera equipment or something like that.
Also for Nitro where maybe you have some spitting on the radio from the exhaust, I wonder what is best to wipe the plastic down to make sure it is cleared up without damaging it?
70% Isopropol Alcohol, Denatured Alcohol or just slightly damp wet cloth?

I got a brand new radio..Spektrum DX4R and everything works perfectly now. Even the previously "dying" servo is working properly without anymore jitter.
Scrolling back this thread...this problem is reported even earlier:

Articulated exactly how it is, even after calibration & cleaning is done. I'm hoping there is some explanation from Futaba on this...

Maybe thats why I haven't had this issue? My 4px was one of the first that came out (in Japan) when my brother got it for me, and I haven't touched the firmware since I've had it, so I guess it's V1.0
