i want a tighter feeling trigger. I see Futaba and other branded alloy triggers that describe them selves as S and SS. Do these reduce the gap between the two triggers??
I want to order one and just wanted to make sure im getting more that just an alloy version of the original |

I'm looking to pick up a new radio for myself. Currently have a regular M12. Was debating on the M12s or the 4PX. Banzaihobby is having great deals on the airtronics stuff right now but they don't have it in stock and im trying to figure out when they will... I personally have had zero issues with my m12 but ive had it for a while. I am reading about what seems to be quite a few issues with the need to clean the steering / throttle pots and this is kinda turning me off to the idea of this radio. Is this a real issue or merely a here and there kinda thing?

Yah, they make it feel much better IMO. SS is for tiny hands, S trigger is most common/normal sized hands and the stocker is for big hands IMO.
I dont have tiny hands... But i did order the Powerstar Short version. Hopefully it does the trick... The radio included an optional plastic trigger i installed it seemed a bit smaller but not much, I like to have the brake leaver close... |
The Futaba alum trigger that comes with the 4pxr is smaller then either of the ones in the 4px. Not sure if it's avail separately but it's very nice.

Anyone else have the Futaba case actually scratch their radio? Just got mine from Tower today. Was really exited and slid my radio in. It peeled back the protective film from the top of the radio and screen and put very small scratches on both. Needless to say, I'm not very happy.

Is there any feedback on this 'Racing Mode' that was added with firmware 1.3? I can't find much about it. Trying to decide if it's worth updating

Anyone tried the Futaba R2106GF 6-Channel S-FHSS Micro Receiver ($29.99). I'm going to try one of these for around the yard and driveway. Tech specs on the big 'compatibility chart' show it will work.
Don't have my 4PXR yet; preordered from Tower over a month ago...hope to see it in the next week or so. I'll post if it comes loaded with V1.3. It is supposed to come with the LiFe battery, charger, carrying handle and screen protector and metal finger/brake. Since 4PXR won't work with a single one of my (and my son's) 25 RC surface models (most with Futaba receivers), I'm also replacing the wonky steering pot in my 3PK (with FASST and FM modules), which I am forced to continue to use. I'll post a thread on that when the pots arrive through e-bay (Futaba won't sell the pots). 23 of 25 surface models with Futaba recievers. None of which will work with 4PXR...thanks Futaba!! M03 FM M05 FHHS (incompatible) M05 FASST c1 M05 FASST c1 TT02-S FASST c1 TT02 FASST c1 TT02 Drift FASSTc1 TB04 FM TB04 FHHS incompatible TRF417 (VTA) FASST c1 TRF419 (17.5 Touring) FASST c1 TRF101 (test car/backup)FM TRF102 (F1 25.5) FASST c1 Traxxas Slash FASST c1 Traxxas Grave Digger FHHS incompatible F104 F60 Ferrari FM F104 2012 Ferrari FASST c1 F104 Pro FHHS incompatible Tamiya Jimmny FM Tamiya XV-01 FHHS incompatible Tamiya Wild One FM Micro Losi AM Acuacraft 26 Spectrum 1/5 RedCat Dune Runner Spectrum Harbor Tugboat AM BTW the reason I ordered the 4PX is to control the 3 carpet racers on the list, but it would be fun to use it for all those (it is supposed to have 40 model memory). |
Frysky receiver
Anyone running these receivers? Wondering the difference in speed vs the fasst 614ff/Fe which I currently have

Racing Mode: The Racing Mode, which improves driving feeling, has been added. The new function is the "race mode" in the response setting which you turn on. After testing it does feel a bit more connected or quicker than before. I tried it with the race mode on and off. But I can't really say how much quicker, it just feels a tad bit quicker. But that also depends on how fast your servo is I guess. I did the test on the touring car, as off-road it is harder to feel if it is connected due to the surface and bumps. I was running S6070 low profile servo in my touring car. Its only rated at 0.1s/60 travel. But I think you might feel a bigger difference if the servo was quicker. I am going to get a faster HV servo to try. |

I loaded the update. It went it without a glitch. Extract the zip file and copy the futaba folder to the root directory of the micro SD, then power on holding the END button and it does it thing.

I usually run Savox 1268 HV servos. Much faster than this and my car feels twitchy |

Ok, so if I'm running .11 servos, I probably won't notice a difference, but if I had .06 in there I would?

You will notice a bit of a difference. But a faster servo will be more noticeable I think. Nothing wrong with upgrading the firmware. You can always lower the response if you find it twitchy. Or turn race mode off.
Thanks |
