Do you guys think that airtronics/sanwa is going to release a alteration of the m12 like the m12x or m13 with a color screen and it been lighter than m12 in the next couple of years to compete with the futaba 4px

Yes without doubt. The benchmark has now been set. The Futaba 4px is the iPhone 3g of transmitters. The real question is will sanwa trump Futaba with a touch screen.

What would be really cool was if transmitters were connected via Bluetooth or wifi to the timing computers and each lap time was displayed on your readout stored for post race review... :tire:

To those who have the 4PX already (have one on pre order), does is come with a clear film type screen protector to put on it like my 4PKS-R did?

Yes. There is a film already covering the screen which I have resisted the urge to peel off.

It seems though this is only a temporary solution.

If you're talking about the Proper After Market Film that you put on separately, then No, it doesn't come with it.

The one that is on there is the typical thin film that comes on any screen that you feel off.

The Screen Protecting Film needs to be bought separately from Futaba or your LHS.

Hope this helps :)

I don't know if touch screen is a good idea and if they will do that, when you are touching your screen with greasy fingers, that's not something you wan't...

The bluetooth/wifi idea would be awesome ! Still prefer Futaba on top of Sanwa

choisan 09-17-2014 04:11 AM

with a touch color screen, wifi, bluetooth, real time telemetry to a PC behind, whatever rc OS, it maybe talking about at least $1000+ range. awesome, isn't it?

Iphones are also getting more advanced each time, but they aren't getting more exspensive, there older models are just getting cheaper :)

Not worth waiting any longer on the 4PX in USA Futaba! You told pre-order paying customers "late-Aug", now it's mid-Oct according to your distributor. Onto Spektrum...

Well worth the wait :)

If you've pre-ordered you should be ok and even if you haven't, they'll stock them up pretty fast by the end of the month.

You'll be happy you waited :)

Thanks for the comments guys! It's VERY frustrating when one places a pre-order 8 weeks ago, calls to check and each wednesday is told it's another week or more away. I could have ordered oversees and had one by now...
