Just got one of these for my Durango 2WD short course paired with a Redline Gen2 8.5 motor. Going to install it tomorrow. Any setup tips I should know about via hotwire? I am not new to tekin, have had a few RS Pros and a few RX8s. Just curious if there is something I should set up with hotwire!

I purchased my RSX a couple months back through Tower Hobbies and only ran a handfull of packs through it with a Trinity D4 8.5 turn motor. I was wondering if anyone has had intermittent issues with the reverse working.
I even reprogrammed the esc with the Hotwire to activate "instant reverse" without any delay. I am still having problems with my reverse activating on command. It seems that the brakes are activated when it should really be going in reverse. I can tell because while holding the reverse on my transmitter I manually move my SCT back and I can hear the light buzzing noise as if the brakes are being activated.
Had an embarrassing moment when at the track during practice got tangled with another truck. The driver of the other truck yelled, "Do you have reverse?!" I yelled back, "Sometimes!" Later, the other driver came to me while I was giving my chassis a run through and he saw my esc and said, "You paid that much money for your esc to sometimes work? That's sad bro." And walked off...

Reverse on the RSX has two modes.
Reverse delay requires one full second of the esc seeing neutral(uninterrupted) to engage reverse.
Instant reverse gives you braking until the car slows, then lift and then reverse. The RSX is build primarily for racing so reverse is a bit different. We are working on some reverse adjustments now that this esc is finding it's way into crawlers, etc.

Just to add to what Randy said...
The ESC must see no input for it to "see neutral". What I have found this means is that if you are running a sensored motor and your car moves at all, ie. rolling on a hill or being pulled by being tangled with another vehicle, the ESC sees this as a "non-neutral" situation and won't allow for reverse to be engaged. It would be nice if the ESC just waited for a "no input from the transmitter" and ignored input coming from the sensor wire in that situation.
Randy can you confirm what I have seen?
