The cap must be mounted to the esc, period.

Capacitors installed on the ESC perform a different function than those installed on the receiver. The one on the RX helps with brownouts and glitching while the one on the ESC reduces damaging ripple currents.

Are the aftermarket capacitor sets better then the single one that comes with the esc? I've seen aftermarket multiple capacitors mounted on a circuit board then have leads that go to the esc. For an extra $10+ I figured a little extra insurance for a $200+ esc is worth it, right???

The cap boards aren't extra insurance. They arguably add some punch out of the corners for limited motor classes.

Anyone know where I can get a fan/mount. During the last weekend race I somehow managed to bust it up pretty good with a hit. I've searched a few places online and can't find it.

What would be best for a small to med tight indoor clay track with little pop jumps. Tekin 4600kv or a Tekin 4300 HD.
Running a Tekno sct 410
Cheers

Does a cap come with the esc? I purchased a combo with a tekin 6.5 and I didn't see a cap in the box.

Yes, it's in the accessory bag with the zip ties and sticky tape.

Did not have a bag. The zip ties were just in the box. I didn't see any tape either. I purchased from amain, and I cut the tape on the box.

What type of cap do I need? I've got a few spektrum receiver caps, can I use those and solder them on?

Email [email protected] with a copy of your proof of purchase and they'll send you one.

The part# is TT3520. The cap that is included is superior to anything Spektrum is offering.
