The datalogging lets you see motor temps, battery voltage, throttle position, motor RPM and ESC temp. You can record what you want to see and save runs for viewing later. Really handy for dialing in a setup.

Ok I have kind of a stupid question I'm building my new 22 2.0 and will be switching between 17.5 and 8.5, I know the RS gen 2 has an 8.5 limit, I was wondering if going to the RSX would give me any proformance advantage? My RS gen 1 got a little warm at my local track with my 17.5 in it is the only reason I'm asking.

Im using the gen 1 Tekin rs with a Reedy sonic 8.0 and I don't have any temp issues at all. On a side note, I have to have the esc in my car...haha

The Gen 2 should do fine with a buggy running 17.5-8.5 no problem. It might get a little warm running the 8.5 but nothing even close to hot if running properly. I run the RS GEN 2 with my 22SCT and an 8.5 with a little boost and it runs all day with only 3-4 lights on the onboard thermal sensor. With a lighter buggy the ESC will have no problem at all.
Im thinking you are geared wrong if the ESC is hot running a 17.5, or the bearings in the car or the motor need replaced. also, check the drive line for binding, sometimes you can over tighten the wheel nuts and it will cause binding in the axle/housing if there are no crush sleeves in the hub. Or excessive drag brake in the ESC.
