You will want to contact Danny on the website or his facebook page. He can not post here anymore.

ANyone have any recent feedback on these motors? I am looking to pickup a mod motor to play around with in a MM B5. Might get a 8.5 or 10.5, unsure.

GRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!!!!!!!

I am running the 13.5's in my buggy, stadium truck and SC truck, I have an 8.5 in my Mod SC truck and a 6.5 in my 22-4. I think these motors are fantastic and every bit as good as the Tekins I took out of my rides. Pair them up with SMC Lipo's and the new SMc ESC and you will be set....LOL

wildcat will let you know after the weekend few of my buddies just picked up 3 of them.. will report back after the weekend of racing.

cool. I hated tekin motors, lol. saying they are like tekins means, they run warm and are slow :)

jkirkwood 06-06-2014 07:27 AM

They are for sure not slow and I don't have any heat problems either. I never ran a Tekin so I can't compare that for you.

From what I recall, these are made by Dualsky, no? Those motors have a good reputation for being strong and fast, which certainly is reflected with the SMC motors. I have a 10.5 I love, may get some more windings for other applications :)

Hoese37 06-06-2014 10:44 AM

Yes they are Dualsky OEM. Im kind of interested in the new ESC as well. http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...product_id=238

metalnut 06-06-2014 10:48 AM

Yeah, I saw the ESC, looks very good! At first I thought it was a Hobbywing, but the specs look different (and good!). Maybe another Dualsky OEM? I don't know enough about those ESCs to say, but definitely tempting. I wonder if they'll offer "blinky only" and 12th scale versions eventually.

Wildcat1971 06-06-2014 11:58 AM

The esc software has nice features

Although the etching could be better

I've been very happy with my SMC motors. I run an 8.5 in my b5m, runs great no issues at all with heat--if anything i believe it might run a tad bit cooler than most. I would not recommend an 10.5 in a b5m for mod racing though. The motors tend to be a tad bit soft on the bottom--very smooth but not super torquey as some mod motors so I'd recommend the 8.5 for the b5m.

I just ran the 5.5 in my 22-4 first time out Sunday and ran awesome! 8min at 140. Had to adjust the speedo because of so much rip.

rippen 06-11-2014 04:18 AM

These motors are awesome. I run an 8.5 in my 22 2.0 and a 6.5 in my 4 wheeler and there both fast and smooth with no heat issues.
