Any idea when the 160V2's will be in? They look super sweet!

Jpdanger 11-26-2015 08:37 PM

Seems like their RF120 ESCs and motors are in stock. Get 'em while they're hot!

whats the warranty period on the SMC ESCs?

Having problems? I just got mine the other day and the drag brake doesn't work.

Cain 12-03-2015 06:36 AM

no, I am looking to pick up a 1S esc, and I want to know what the warranty period is before I commit to purchase. The only thing I see mentioned is for batteries.

anyone?

ESC looks very similar to the trackstar lineup including the programmer box. But, if there is a warranty backing it up I don't mind the additional cost (which isn't astronomical either). Just not finding anything for warranty info on smc's site specific to the escs and I not reaching anyone via phone or email :(

I would FB msg SMC racing the question about the warranty. I think Danny , the owner of SMC, replies to the messages.

Anybody have experience with the 4500kv 4-pole motor? If so, what would you compare it to power and performance (4600 Pro4, Hobbywing, 4300hd)? Would be going in a Tekno SCT410.3

excellent motor....great power curve.....its just as good , if not better than the ones you listed.

i feel which esc you use and how you program it is more essential to performance

Any chances we'll see a 17.5t motor?

Cain 12-08-2015 06:07 AM

got an email back from smc, the escs have a 6 month warranty on them.

Quick review on my SMC-1 9.5 turn motor. At first I found it a bit sluggish in my B5m and was getting pretty hot. Kept the same gearing and added 16 degrees of timing. This really woke the motor up. Plenty of power and comes off the track at 110 degrees after a 6 minute race. In retrospect, the motor came with max timing set on the end bell and I set it to zero. Maybe this was done on purpose as SMC knows they run better with timing advance? At any rate, I'm really happy with this 9.5.
