Wondering about the solder job, I only have a station wondering if I can use it to do it. curious what temp to not destroy it. I know I do have so of the braid to desolder it. I think Im going to take the board off the face if possible to keep the heat off of the stuff.

mine started steering funny. I could see the front wheels go straight and back the way I had it turned then straight again then the car came to a stop. then took off when I wanted to and stopped again.
I've never had that happen before.

I said to another guy walking on the track by me my car started steering on it's own and stopped. and he instantly looked up at the drivers stand and said it's that kid's radio. that's why he's out picking his car up. it also stopped from the fail safe kicking in.

your sure it's the New It4?

no I have no idea what it was. just told it was a flysky radio.
could be a old one.

a high heat isn't the enemy, leaving on the part too long is. it should melt within 5 seconds if not, the iron isn't hot enough.

follow that rule and your solder job will not destroy the electronics.

Ya that's what I usually do is crank it up to 700 or 800 and it goes quick. With the chip that's coming it has 12 prongs, I think that have to be soldered, so I will just let it cool between every couple I do. I've never really messed a round with a circuit board. I do a lot of connector's on multistrand 8g and 10g wire and you have to tin everything first then heat them quick and hot.

I got confirmation also. In Cincinnati right now. I hope this works along with the update. The radio works great. The temperature telemetry has been very helpful.

That will be sweet to use the temp sensor in my boat's, I will be able to tune it in better with the 3rd channel on the fly.

Even if the fly sky is scanning, the other Rx's should just let it pass like all of the other RF noise out there. The Rx should not even notice it. It is like a 27, 50 72 MHZ radio causing it. Not really going to happen. I would like to know what radio it is, model, brand, if the user did anything to it, such as a battery mod or other type of soldering to change the battery to a lipo. Maybe he has changed the radio in some way?

The Futaba's, Spectrums, Artroincs all talk a different language, so it like reading the directions that came with a flysky radio. They really are not going to understand what the flysky is saying.

Easy was to test this theory. Next time you are there, talk the the flysky guy, if the cars are acting up, have him turn his radio off. If nothing changes, not his radio.

Soldering, lots of heat in very short bursts. Quick in, quick out. Just enough to flow the solder is what you are after. Take one pin at a time, don't rush it, relax and just take it easy ans you will be golden.

Buzz.

I thought they all scanned and frequency hopped.

I need to get my serpent vector going again:nod:

I've only had DEFECTIVE fly-skies glitch out other fly-skies, warranty replacement later, problem solved.

The Eagle has landed. The Eagle has landed.

The chip in on my desk at home.

This looks like soldering fun for all. IC chip is the size of a pinky nail. Good luck to all. I will post my results if it survives. lol!!

Well that sucks mine is in romulus on hold from bad weather

Are you going to do a how to. I thought the one in our radio only had 4 tabs on the one side. Now we going to have to figure it out. The chipp in the radio I just looked is got 0nly 8 on one side it looks like it goes 6 pins the skip one or so. then the other side is different with only 4 pins. I was hoping it was the same configuration I can solder it but need to know the layout or what to skip.

Well your 1 step ahead of me. I have not even looked inside my IT4 yet to even see where or how or what I will be replacing. I just know I have the same binding issues has everyone else. I was hoping for the whole circuit board like some others had received. Per the email from Flysky_jerry I assumed it would be a whole board not an IC chip and to my surprise BAM!!!! Well first thing is to disassemble the IT4 and go from there. Unless someone can give any direction to go with.

Oh Boy really!! That's the main chip? How can that little chip replace that monster. lol!! Can someone say for sure that's the right chip to replace? I just sent an email with pic to Flysky_Jerry for some assistance. I suggest if those who received the same IC chip are confused like me to do the same to get a faster response.
