I heard though that the receivers automatically go into bind mode after they go say 30seconds without radio connection so that rebinding would be a simple scroll through the settings on the radio if it is not feasible to reattach a bind plug into the receivers say a case like the receiver is in a waterproof receiver box.

however if you don't need the telemetry I say that you could try the older version receivers to see if you could bind multiples of those by taking advantage of that well placed afhds2 check-box.

Yeah I'm starting to believe it may be hardware limited. My latest email with FS was them asking when I bought the transmitter. I attached a picture of the about screen and a copy of my receipt and the tech said he was going to talk to the engineer and get back to me.

I was going to get the FS GT2 for my sons model with plans to drive it with my controller when I want but I'm not sure I'm going to keep the iT4 if the bind/model memory issue can't be fixed.

It seems silly to keep the radio when I can get one at 1/3rd the price that will do what i want it to do while sacrificing the telemetry. I'm thinking about something along the lines of the Turnigy 3XS but I'm not 100% sure yet.

I read in this thread, or another (cant remember) that when you switch off afhds2, and use the old receiver's, they hold the bind. I was considering this radio, but I have purchased another manufacturer due to this issue.

Been following this thread as I'd kinda like to have one if the bind issue works out. Commenting on the 3xs. I just ordered one for guy at work who's getting started in r/c. Out of the box it did not work at all, luckily had read where someone had an issue with the 2.4 board being unplugged. I gave it a try and sure enough the wires are short and it pulls on the 2.4 board. It was partially unplugged. The next issue is the roller. It rolls about 1/2 a turn easily, then gets difficult, 1/2 turn easy then difficult. What ends up happening is as you roll it hits the difficult spot and its super easy to push in so it selects instead of scrolls. I took it back apart and everything seems fine, its just something with the roller mechanism. It's pretty aggravating though, you have to be very slow and careful selecting and scrolling. The radio does feel, and work fine, the housing is a clone of a 3x or 3r, it has some annoying beep when you turn on. Just thought I'd share if you soon are in the cheap radio market.

get a gt3b, if you get rid of the it4, heck I'll trade you my gt3b for your it4 as long as you ship first!

I have (2) trucks so far. I love this radio. It is a great radio for the money. Yes the bind issue is a draw back. It is not hard to deal with. I just leave the bind plug in the Rx and do the bind when I turn on the radio. Other then a 10 second longer turn on time, I am happy. I would like them to do a nice up date to the firmware or have a firmware like they have for the G3 or the 9x.

My brother has the green GT3C. It is a good radio. For $50.00 for the GT3C, how can you go wrong.

Buzz.

My latest email with FS reveals it is hardware limited. My version is 1.0. I'm not sure what version they are on now.

They are going to mail a new main board out to me so I can swap it out. They say this will allow the multi model memory to bind to different receivers.

So I guess if this is holding you back it should be fixed on the latest versions of the radio. I'll let you know how mine is working when I get the new board in.

I emailed Hobby Partz about the binding issue over a month ago & never got a response.

You are better off contacting FS directly. Post a message on their message board here and you will probably get an email response.

Also it is now the Chinese new year and production has stopped until February. You may or may not get a response from them until after production starts back up.

Will do. I probably will not have the main board until after mid February due to the Chinese new year.

howdy all,
first post here, just bought a used it4 and am a curious how you identify the model
you have? this binding issue is really a bummer for those of us using waterproof
receiver boxes. really like the interface of this transmitter but this could be a huge
limitation.
thanks to all of you trying to figure all this out and keep at it cause this could
be a great transmitter.
on a side note, it would have been nice to have the wheel tilt towards the screen
a little bit so you can view the screen and drive at the same time.

You can check the firmware version you are running. I think you access it through the config or settings menu, then select "about". If it is 1.0-en### then you are probably running hardware version 1.0. The only way to tell for sure is to update your firmware to the 1.02-en version. With the newer firmware it will display your hardware version.

And yes the bind issue is a drawback for the WP receiver boxes. A few have said the receiver will go into bind mode if it doesn't get a signal after 30 seconds. Waiting that amount of time and then enabling the bind on the transmitter seems like a viable work around though I haven't tested it.

is it just me or what but I can't find any support pages on the flysky website for the
it4. can someone direct me to the right place to download the update.
thanks

See a few posts above: http://www.rctech.net/forum/12930601-post220.html

Basically leave a message stating your problem and then they will email you. There is no direct download for the firmware on their site.

If you look at my profile one of my visitor messages has the link to download firmware version 1.02-US.
