Doonie question

I have one of these radios and have about ten models on it, all working well.. The last one I have simply moved an existing, bound, receiver to a new model I am testing. It has two channels running to a Sabretooth 10 amp double motor controller. When I operate the throttle, both channels run forwards and backwards as does the rudder channel. If I fully depress the trigger and then the rudder, one of them runs. This happens four ways and I can get a result but not a good one. I guess the answer may be in the settings somewhere but I have no idea where.
