So what....
You a lawyer? I'm sure there are certain definitions regarding the interpretation of the FCC statments in regards to the Spektrum system. For instance, the RF transmitter is only one component of the transmitter module. There are no instructions on the installation or removal of the RF transmitter to/from the transmitter module. So, using that logic, the Spektrum complies with the FCC rules because the RF transmitter is only one component of the module, and it is housed in the "appliance" manufactured by them.. I would think that they are aware of the installation and use of the modules. Oh, and if you have a M8, or another FM system, you should know its against FCC rules to CHANGE the CRYSTALS in the transmitter. So, I guess we have ALL been breaking that rule too. Come and get me FCC. Just don't take my spektrum! FCC has bigger fish to fry anyway- Like Howard Stern. Anyway, I like the part about the RF exposure. Maybe I can put a hot dog on my transmitter antenna, and by the end of the race it will be nice and toasty!!!! |
Stop it Lou ...... if you have problem with fcc then keep your spektrum in drawer.
I have questions about spektrum system for my 3pk. Is it possible to buy 1 Tx and 8 Rx ? Thanks guys. |

I have been having similar problems as described here but with a FM receiver.
I get glitching when i accelerate real hard out of a tight corner on the furthest parts of the track. Happens in the exact same spot every single lap. But I'm not using a digital servo like you guys, just a standard servo but with a new Novak brushless 5.5R system geared up high. On acceleration if the steering goes crazy you need capacitors. The regulators may oscillate due to the motor current & frequency. |
5v regulated output device should work, as long as your glitching is a byproduct of voltage depression at the receiver from the BEC current being too low.
With FM, I would look to other remedies first. Maybe try a cap plugged into the receiver, and if that helps, it may be a voltage issue. Most likely you are getting interference from something at the track or from your car. There may be a wire underground or a light right overhead or something like that. Try a different spot on the drivers stand. Make sure your servo plugs are tight and wires are neat and not routed next to the speedo or motor, or battery wires. I know when I had FM, and I drove over by the streetlight (outside), my car would go nuts, even during the day. Also at a large outdoor track, there was something under the pavement that made my car go NUTS. Spektrum ALL is cured. |
Ok, will try a cap next. God knows i have tryed everyting else :weird:
If that dont work...... I need a Spektrum  |
|
I just purchased a M11 with Spekreum this week, worked just fine in the 12th scale but not in my TC. It would go to the fail safe mode when under power and servo moved at speed. I installed a SPM 1600 Spektrum Voltage Protector and everything seems to work OK. Will test under race conditions Fri. night, hope all is well.

spektrum dropped connections
Just my 2 cents but I have seen several, well two people with spektrums lose their signals and hit the wall at full throttle. (oval).
I understand the specktrum operates under the cellular network. on my Cellular phone I have dropped calls indoors and on cloudy days and dropped calls for no particular reason. I think I will wait and see. when they figure a way to stop cell phones from dropping calls I will take another look. I know, I know, I am a bit conservative in my old age. I still like to roll up my car windows and drive a car with a manual clutch, transmission , pick my own rc frequency and not worry about dropped frequency signals on my rc car at full speed. fail safe or not. see at the track, I'm the guy with the long antenna. LOL. :sneaky: |
I see in the manual that you can trim the RX antena to a minimum lenght of 3.6 inches. Does this mean that you can trim it to any lenght between that and the original lenght or does it have to be one or the other?
