I just read in the horizon hobby booklet that the older version of the spectrum had problems with lrp speed controls. It needs a software update. But they said all their current stock is the updated ones. So if your's is new I wouldn't think that would be the problem. Hard to say. Plug a reciever pack into the rx and see if that helps is the only suggestion I have. I have a spectrum about a month old or so that worked fine with my QC2.

Servo : Sanwa WRX and Futaba 9450

I have tried all combination ESC/Servo , and i still have this problem of range .

I didn't cut the antenna wire , i have tried with a capacitor on the receiver and the ESC , with no result .

Thanks for your help

I have the same problem with mine. The receiver loses signal at around 15-20 ft. I've emailed Horizon about it and they said that I needed to have both tx module and rx sent in for repairs .

I have Q2's in my stock and 19T sedans and my 1/12th scale pan car and race outdoors twice a week. I have had the Spektrum system for several months in all.... no problems .... at all.

Ok,

I find what it was , the antenna wire was unplugged in the transmitter module .
Now the range is huuuuuuge !!

Thanks for you answers .

After reading wiget's post, I opened my tx module as well to check if the antenna wire was also unplugged. I found out that the antenna wire was severed where the antenna rotates. I tried resoldering it but it still wouldn't work after 20 ft :(

There are 2 places where antenna can be pluged. Is it any difference if i plug it in top or botton place?

Yes it does make a difference - one of them i believe is intended for another purpose (?) - not where i could open mine to see which but they are different ;)

that is shit... what about unused pins? they will get damaged unless you stick a plug there, but even then the plug on the end are more susceptable to damage and being bent coz there is no support for them :tire:

transmitter module smoked!

Has anyone else experienced a transmitter module going up in smoke. Literally, my son was waiting for his main to start, car on the track, when his car stopped respondeing and Futaba Spektrum transmitter module started to smoke. Worked fine for months, then this all of a sudden - I kinda expected the receivers to have problems eventually from wear & tear, but a transmitter module? Opened up the case and found the burn mark, looks like a diode of some type smoked.

Still, we love our spektrums, never a glitch. Time to find the sales receipt for a warranty repair.

Does anyone know what spektrum I should get for the JR Z-1 Radio? Will the EX-10 one work in that radio? Thanks for any help.

I am using a JR R1,stockmotor, Q2, and and JR 4750. it bounces all over the place. it works with airtronics and hitec servos which i would have installed in the car but these are not up to par for my car. It would be nice for some help with this would be nice. thanks
