I'm not sure on the shipping, but Ultimate Hobbies has them for $139.95. That's where I bought mine. Extra recievers are $69.95.

They have a web store, but it sucks. It's ultimatehobbies.com -- you're better off to try calling them. The numbers are on the website.

Hello Tral,
Try Kraig at KT hobbies. I live in Belgium, Europe and have ordered two sets from him and then another order for two receivers. Shipping was flawless two times in a row and he provides a tracking number to follow the order up to your door step.
Order took about four to five working days to get here.
His website is www.kthobbies.com
Ciao,
S

Has anyone got the radio. I am in the market for a new radio and it does not look to bad. I dont really need all the adjustments most of the high end radios have anyway. Plus one of the servos that it has with it is actually pretty good, at least numbers wise!

I run M8 with spektrum, but at our state race 2 weeks ago, there were a few drivers with it. It worked well for them. Only limitation seems to be the 3 model memory.

At the race, we had about 10 drivers using Spektrum. None of them had any issues all weekend. About half of our 1/8th scale drivers used it. Cars looked ultra sharp without an antenna showing.

They don't work unless you do a slight modification to the module, which if you are not comfortable with, I suggest you send it back to Horizon for the update. The M11 comes with two more pins in the radio that were not on the M8. If you want to mod it, you have to take the module apart and carefully drill two holes in the board where the extra two pins need to pass. These two pins don't have any use at the moment and are the only thing keeping you from using the M8 module in the M11. You also have to remove the module before turning on your radio and then insert it while on. I only know this for someone at our track does just this to get it to work. Unless you really need more model memory and the few extra features of the M11, just stick with the M8.

The Spektrum transmitter module is slightly different than the M8 as mentioned there are a couple extra pins BUT the other change is more significant which is software. It is mentioned above here that you have to turn your radio on then insert the trans module - this is not required with a module upgraded for the M11. Several have the M11 Spektrum systems here locally with the M11 update and do not need to remove and reinsert. ;)

Has anyone had problems with the Spektrum receivers getting stuck in fail-safe mode after a crash or hard impact. I have two of them in two different cars, and if I hit something just right, the receiver LED goes off and the receiver goes into fail-safe. Only cycling the power will get it to return to service.

I've tried different servo and ESC wires, putting a capacitor on the receiver, and even padding it with foam. I'm going to send both of mine back to Horizon, but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem.

Is your transmitter in PPM or PCM? It will not bind if you still have it in PCM mode, if that is set right, then I'm not sure why it's not working? :(

teamatlas 08-14-2005 08:56 AM

it is in normal mode. when i hold the bind button all it does it flashes fast all the time instant. almost like im missing a step in the initial process?? not real sure i have just installed a brand new one that i got back and nada wont stop flashing. :flaming:

Sounds like you may have to send in your transmitter module. It maybe your problem .I don't see 3 receivers having the same problem ?

teamatlas 08-14-2005 09:17 AM

i was thinking the same but it is the rx that wont bind i have a rx in my revo and tryed last night to rebind the rx for the fail safe and when i held the button and turned the switch on all it did was flash all the time no solid and then flash ?? so makes me think in doing something wrong ?? not sure
