quick question, does the spektrum receiver wire need to be exactly 3.6 in. or can it be anywhere between 3.6 and 9 in?

At the Reedy, I was advised by Spektrum that 3.6" was the magic number and that it was better to keep the wire routed through the top hole of the receiver as opposed to the optional side hole.

What about the new 3VCS high response, anyone know what module it uses? Like what model number?

If you go back a few pages, you'll see a discussion about this very thing.

My recommendation - make it as close to 3.6" as possible. Exact, if you can.

Do you mean 3.6" measured from the hole in the top of the receiver, or 3.6" measured from the base of the antenna mount?

I just installed my new spektrum receiver on top of my servo and the antenna mount is right next to it, but 1" below mounted on the chassis. If the wire is 3.6" measured from the hole in the top of the receiver, then it would probably only be 2" above the chassis inside the plastic antenna housing. Is this what I should shoot for?

Currently I have the wire at stock length, with the antenna housing around 3" and the extra wire comes out the top and is wrapped around the outside of the housing with wire shrink wrap holding it in place. I haven't had any problems with this setup while running it last week both testing in doors on carpet and at a race outdoors in a parking lot asphalt track.

What I did to make it seem like the wire was cut without actually doing it, is just coil the wire around the antenna base then drill a hole in the antenna mast and stick it up through and it only goes up about 2.5 inches.

I just found out it's a Futaba TZ-FM module... anyone know if the spektrum will fit and work properly in a radio with this module?

3.6" from where it is soldered to the board. And it is best to route out of the top of the receiver per Spektrum.

It's supose to be the same as the 3PK.

Seano 06-27-2005 11:23 PM

As far as I know the TZ-FM module will fit and work in the 3pk, can anyone tell me if this is correct?

alan1467 06-28-2005 12:18 PM

Can anyone help. I have a JR R-756 steer wheel tramsmiter and a X-756 stick transmitter, both use exactly the same module and are the same spec. The Spektrum work great in the R-756 but will not do anything in the X-756. Anyone know why?

Thanks Alan

Turbonium 06-28-2005 08:34 PM

i have been using the Spektrum with the 9550 and GTX with no problems at all, either carpet or asphalt, rubber and foams....

RCknight 06-28-2005 08:51 PM

Anyone have problems with a KO...

PDS-2143FET servo with their Spektrums units? I hope not, I can't afford another servo.

i'm thinking get a new EX10 w/ spektrum or only get spektrum for my old 3PK.
