Quick recap: I had purchased a Spektrum as my last resort for the recent Nats. The track had caused three of my previous radio systems to glitch heavily, causing hundreds of dollars in broken parts. The Spektrum was from the original batch and had all the documented issues, but it didn't glitch.

Update: Anyway, I here my name announced over the blaring PA system on Thursday. I walk over to the announcers booth to find John Adams from Spektrum offering his assitance to me! WOW Talk about first rate customer support!!!!

He reprogrammed my receiver with the new software. Issues GONE! Furthermore, he stood by the track for my first qualifier with the handheld data aquisition unit to take "packet measurements", ensuring my receiver wasn't losing too much information. Spot on!

The system is super fast. I had to adjust a bit for the increase in

responsiveness.

Even though I had an issue with the Horizon rep, I can honestly say that Spektrum went above and beyond the call of duty to assist their customers at the Nats. Keep in mind, the factory guys like Losi,Jr, Hodge and one other, already had working units. John Adams showed up for just a handful of us unsponsored guys!

why are you returning these? all the KO units have the upgraded software loaded.... just curious about why.

thanks ;)

I'm returning them because I ordered too many. the KO racers have them-it's just an inventory thing-don't want them just sitting on the shelf-that's all

Silver, how long until you send them back in? I have the unfortunate situation of having already ordered and paid for my KO system and receivers from my lhs. I would first have to go to them, cancel the order, and get my money back. If you are willing to sell one of your KO systems to me for the standard 160$ the hobby shops are selling them for, I'd be interested.

anybody else having good luck with these indoors, I just ordered one for my sedan to try out, the one in my offroad truck works great, anybody else use them at the nats..

It is probably because the BEC is overloaded with that digital servo and the Spektrum receiver which draws more power than a standard receiver. The Spektrum rep gave me a capacitor to use even though I was running a normal (non-digital) servo, as a "precautionary measure".

Try the cap before dithcing the servo.......

I've also been running all three of my off-roaders with the spektrum system indoors. I've not had a single problem yet. They've all behaved as advertised. (Once I got past a few setup hickups :p )

which esc are you using? some reportedly supply less voltage to the tranceiver / receiver than others which could lead to this problem too. you may try using a esc capacitor plugged into the AUX or BATT slot to stabilze voltage ;) as a test.

has anyone tried using the spektrum module AND a standard module during the same race?? i.e., switching from spektrum to the standard??

I'm asking because I'm getting a spektrum but the receiver is too big to mount into my Tamiya F201 - so I would need to run a standard receiver in that car....

Help??

when i got my spectrum for the R1 i switched between the old trans/recv and the spektrum. only problem i experienced was that i had to take out the recv from the car back and forth.

So you didn't have any problems switching the modules back and forth?? Becuase that's what I'm going to have to do
